WASHINGTON
Congressional negotiators have come up with a $1.07 trillion plan to keep the government running through the end of September – but there’s a lot missing from the 1,665-page bill.
And much of it involves items that President Donald Trump promised during his campaign and the early days of his presidency.

It appears the Democratic Republican majority in the House got the bill they wanted. If there was a doubt in my mind before about Paul Ryan needing to go, it's now gone. Paul Ryan must go and someone, an actual Republican, must replace him. This is ridiculous. The Republicans gave away the entire farm with this bill and got nothing in return. The Democrats retain the majority despite being in the minority for yet another victory.
-
But will Trump sign it? This is where the line item veto is needed at the Fed level.
-
The disappointment is strong in this one...

I have a feeling that Trump will sign it. I haven't given up yet, but I am definitely worried.

Could there be a secret deal behind this to get Democrat support for a future bill?
That is the way politics USED to work, and guess what; it worked.

I doubt it, Mcconnel is too big a pussy. The Dems are celebrating this bill, laughing at republicans. Trump is looking for more republicans to be elected or the nix the filibuster. He doesn't need either, he needs to force the shutdown and take control of the narrative. He needs to get these liberal senators primaried and get a few of them defeated. I've always said that these wuss republicans would snap in line if they were smacked on the nose, time to smack them on the nose.

The Mango Mussilini will sign it, since he doesn't want to be seen as responsible for a government shutdown freshly in office. The GOP are in a tough spot, they own the budget and they know it.

Sometimes you have to pick your battles. Personally this is a battle I would choose to fight if I were Trump. Also, exactly what "Mussolini" type dictatorial, and fascist actions has Trump committed for you to use that description of him. I know its a joke, but at least when we called Obama a communist we had a track record of his to justify that moniker. :)

Obama was schooled on communism and embraced it.

Frank Marshall Davis, and Obama's own book, "Dreams of my Father" are just two examples.

I agree with this. He's the President and leader of the Republican party. He was elected because he was a Washington outsider that promised to make "great deals" and get things done. This bill is yet another example of how the Democrats are actually controlling the Congress while being in the minority. I'm not sure why there even needs to be talk of a shutdown when Republicans control both houses.
In reality, Trump's election has exposed the fact that most of the "Republicans" in Congress aren't actually Republicans.

Totally agree. They TALK a good game, then do just as much to grow government as the Democrats.

Paul Ryan is an excellent example.

Yet the President was upbeat about the budget agreement.
From:
http://www.kcci.com/article/trump-budget-bill-clear-win-for-american-people/9593052
"President Trump on Tuesday said his budget bill was a "clear win" for the American people. This is what winning looks like, something you folks know a lot about," the president said as he stood in front of a group of uniform-clad Air Force Falcons."
If the President considers this a "win' why should I not believe him?

And you are somehow surprised at this??

No, but I keep holding out hope. Eternal optimist I guess. :)
I don't know how Trump can see this as a win, but it may be in the bigger picture.
-
If we end up in the same situation again come September, then we're just fucked. We can hope that come September they actually put together and pass a real budget, one that is to Trump's liking.
I'm by no means happy with this thing though and they keep dropping in other items.

This is Paul Ryan and the Washington establishment. They will not allow Trump to push through his agenda and will keep stalling and delaying.

This is my thought and fear also. The Swamp is fighting back with a vengeance, and it has a lot of money, power, and politicians of both parties in it.

Perhaps, but as we saw in November, the people get a vote in this and it does work. Primary challengers are going to be the answer in most of these situations, including against Paul Ryan.

Hopefully Ryan will get voted out.
-
Trump will have to go full campaign mode to get some siting republicans defeated in the primary by actual republicans and put the fear of losing their conduct to the gravy train in the rest.
-
Hopefully Ryan will get voted out.
Paul Nehlen ran against him in 2016 and has said that he's considering running against him in 2018. I'm not sure if it'll be enough to beat Ryan in the primaries or not, but the fact that someone is challenging him should say something about his performance in Congress. The more people who run against incumbents and the higher the percentage of the vote they get (even if they don't win), the louder the message is. You'll always have those that think their seat is untouchable, and for that they only need to look at Eric Cantor's seat during his primaries.

Tom Daschle, Dan Rostenkowski......
I would love to see Paul Ryan, and Mitch McConnell replaced with Swamp drainers. The problem is the majority of their colleagues like the Swamp, and getting enough votes from them to become Speaker, or Senate Majority Leader is not going to happen. Without the cooperation of the Republicans in Congress, Trump will not be able to implement his vision of health care insurance reform, tax reform, immigration reform, and other initiatives he wants.
