One of my best friends has been flying since he was 16 (he's 64 now), and has had one of the nicest V35B's in the country. It has the Colemill Starfire conversion (300HP, four blade Q tip prop), and the latest Garmin, and other avionics. He has spared no expense on the panel, and upkeep of the plane which he has had since 2003.
Well, the neighboring hangar had a fire that consumed about 1/3 of the hangars in his row. There are Barons on either side of him, and they both got torched along with his plane. He is sick of course, as am I. Ugh. :(

Sorry about your friend’s Bo, but I’m happy we have two aviation posts in one day. Let’s keep it up!
-
Yikes, two Barons and a V35B. Bad day for Beechcraft.

I've flown the Bonanza quite a bit over the years, and have seen the Barons. All, were very nice planes.
-
Wow, where was this?
-
I hate to say it, but it is just stuff. The important thing is your friend wasn't hurt. My hope is no one else was as well.
-
Sorry to hear about the plane being lost but I'm glad your friend is fine. I hope that he decides to get another plane and continue his passion.

Virginia. Yes, he is probably going to get an A36 (six place Bo) although I prefer the V tail. Hey, it's his insurance money.
-
Quick update. Just talked to my friend. He still hasn't receive the insurance check for the plane, but should next week or so. Yes, it is totaled. He has looked at a 2004 G36 Bonanza, and a Saratoga so far. I am guessing he will go for the G36 after flying the V35B for so many years. Both planes are supposedly immaculate.
-
Mooney Acclaim? Unless he needs to have 6, I would give it a look.

No, he definitely wants the room for six, but knows like we all do filling all the seats is virtually impossible depending on fuel. I don't know why he wants the bigger plane. I told him to get another V-Tail. The useful loads of newer planes SUCKS.

But they look all plush like a leased Lexus.

Yep, at the penalty of the aforementioned weight. He's got a G36 Bo in pre-buy right now, so he will probably have it this week or next.

Very nice. I hope it all works out. Post some pictures once he gets it if he's fine with it.

This is it. He brought it home last week. Unreal. I will get to fly it over Christmas.

Very nice! I hope he enjoys it and I hope you get to fly it. Great looking aircraft.
-
Wow. Beautiful. Now, if it only had a V-Tail, it would be perfect.
-
He dropped some serious coin on that plane as you obviously can see. I can't even imagine. Yes, it certainly is nice.

If I'm going to spend that kind of dough on an aircraft, it's going to have turbines.

If I spent that kind of money on anything it would be "sleeping" with me.
