Title: Health care savings for Congress
Post by: Lucifer on May 27, 2018, 06:43:06 AM

Here's a thought for today.  Remove members of congress and the senate from their premium healthcare plan and place all of them under the VA.  This would save the country millions in tax dollars while allowing these elected public servants a chance to enjoy the benefits of what they created and continue to run.

No extras, no "Cadillac" plans, just the same health service any other service member receives.

It will never happen.  How about something realistic?

I'm going to try to fly tomorrow, how about you?

So nothing to add as usual?  Thanks for playing.

Get a running start down a hill and flap your arms rapidly.    You may want to try the wax and feather method on your arms as well.

It might not happen, but I think it is a great idea.  They could say they promise to improve our veterans health care system and to prove it, they were placing themselves under that system.

I also buy lottery tickets occasionally.

I can't understand why people give congress a pass every time the topic is sensible and realistic.

Congressmen are no royalty and the faster we stop allowing them to act like it and push back, the sooner they will get the message, or lose elections.

It's a funny idea for sure.  The idea that a privileged class would voluntarily give up their premium health care to go onto something really crappy just because SGOTI told them too is hilarious.  If you believe that is how they think, then you don't understand them.

N7, how are you going to get "We" do do that?  Do you have a mouse in your pocket?  You need to get a couple of million people following behind you.  It just isn't realistic.

Remember that I am a veteran and I am appalled by how the VA operates and how inefficient it is.  My plan for fixing that would be to take all the money from Obamacare, medicaid and medicare, cut it in half and then roll it into one giant national clinic system which operates by priority...veterans, disabled, indigent, unemployed.  There's universal care for the Democrats and a huge tax savings for Republicans.  Wanna bet that both will hate it?

Often, mainly in business or first class.

The main problem we have with congress is most people firmly believe just how incompetent congressmen truly are, and would like to see a wholesale flushing of congress.

But then ask them how they feel about their congressman, and usually the answer is "Oh, he's doing ok".

We desperately need a constitutional convention and establish term limits as a start, as well as a balanced budget amendment.
