Not a single post today? I even had to get on the main PS site (vs Tapatalk) to see if Tapatalk is screwed up. No new posts on the main site either. Everyone OK?
I need some brief departures into PS to get through the rest of tax season. How about y’all stop thinking of yourself for once and think about others!

I'm in Florida after a fucked up day of airline travel. Woke up at 2:30 am for a 6am flight. Broke ass plane and weather, 6 hour delay. Had to cancel day trip to Kennedy Space Center. Hope to post some cool photos of the Spacex launch from the cruise ship tomorrow.
-
Anthony hit on it in a round about way. Speaking for myself, distracted by the massive train wreck happening. Just don’t have much to say because I mean what are you gonna say while you watch the world spin into catastrophe.
Also, work’s been busy.

Our son in law’s flight from SAT to JFK was delayed almost two hours due to weather and then they canceled his second leg to Norfolk altogether. Jet Blu says they have no flights til Saturday so he’s renting a car if they can’t get him on another airline. If he can even find a rental car.

A couple on our airport shutlle missed their cruise today because of airline delays. Never fly in the day you cruise.

I bet cruises don’t give refunds.

Usually, no. Unless you book the airline through the cruise line. Not sure if they will let you rebook for a small fee or not. Never took that chance. I always fly out early at least the day before.

^^^^^^^^^At some point I wonder if one of us will end up like Charlton Heston in "the Omega Man". Anthony Zerbe was great in that as was Heston as always.

They won’t let me onto the WiFi here at Camp Wrongthink. Apparently I posted something that irked the Propaganda Minister. Another incarcerated patriot patched an internet connection for me this morning using smuggled-in parts from the underground network here. Keep up the fight!

Just so much crazy going on out there it's hard to find something exceptionally crazy to comment on. That, and it being overcast and raining and/or snowing for the past couple months has left me without my flying fix / mental reset button. ARG!

Wanting to retire soon, so I've been wrestling with health insurance, it ain't easy retiring early.
Health insurance, one sure fire way to pump up the blood pressure and stress level.

It ain’t easy retiring at any age. The amount of paperwork nonsense we are going through to get his pension and 401(k) transferred, get him off their insurance, (it was like pulling teeth to get them to send the certificate of last day of coverage, he had to call them three times), get him on Medicare, and get him on my supplement health insurance, has been ridiculous. We had to find our birth certificates, marriage certificate, scan and send, then send again because we didn’t do it right the first time, fill out forms and take them to sign in front of a notary, (Texas won’t let you cash out a pension without your spouse’s consent), upload tax returns (my insurer wants proof he is still my spouse as of the most recent tax year. They weren’t happy with 2020 return, I then also had to upload the 2021 return.)
It’s a full time job just getting him out of that job.
And yeah the blood pressure and stress when we saw the premium for the supplemental policy, on top of Medicare Part B premium of course.

I have been occupied watching season 5 of "Better Call Saul" on Netflix.

Missed the launch by 5 minutes. We were stuck inside the check in building waiting for my son's covid test to clear. Oh well.

MY company has retirement plans, I used one until I got on Medicare. Fortunately I'm healthy, that didn't make it cheap though. All I have currently is a Medicare Advantage, zero dollars added cost. My wife has a Plan "G" and a prescription plan that doubles her cost.

I have the option of Humana Medicare Advantage or traditional BCBS 70/30 plan and I stay with the traditional although it’s a lot more expensive. I have issues with Humana.

Copays add up quick.
I do the billing for our office and Humana Medicare Advantage is a good payer for our services, but we only use a few CPT codes.
I always tell people if they can afford to stay on traditional with a secondary, do it.
Stay away from the Medicare replacement HMOs. Most physicians are excluded from their networks.

Ah, feelings hurt again snowflake? ::)
Let's be a bit more accurate. Many of the libs that were here have fled after being so smug about your hero FJB being elected installed into the presidency. FJB and the lunatic left have turned everything they touch into dog shit, so you and them have nothing to gloat about, and you all look like fools trying to blame any of this disaster on the previous administration.

Hi there!
You have a point. But Lucifer also has a point. Are you going to try to say the Biden administration and the Dems haven’t turned everything into dog shit?
Let’s take inflation. Dave Ramsey said it is due to 3 things:
1. Oil. That is 100% on Biden.
2. Supply chain issues, that is caused by the lockdowns, closed ports, etc., continued lockdowns are heavily on the Dems.
3. People won’t go back to work, more specifically they are being paid not to work, which means printing up money not being backed by the production of goods and services. While Trump did do the first stimulus payments, they are being continued and unemployment benefits extended by Biden and the Democrats.
Speaking of that, I heard something from some grain producers group talking to the transportation board about an issue looming: A large percent of railroad employees haven’t returned to work, the railroads are having trouble meeting demand to move grain to feed animals. That would be the animals WE eat. Cattle and chickens are starving. If you say we’ll be a vegan, this is also affecting the grains we eat. If you think food prices are high now, just wait.
Biden’s answer to that will be to demand trains start running on batteries.

If you plan on going on the Marketplace, make every effort to reduce your gross income.

But the "groupthink wrath" doesn't only apply to libs. It applies to anyone that dares deviate from the groupthink-party-line.

And, we're going to allow a higher percentage of Ethanol in our gasoline making our cars less fuel efficient which will end up costing us more money. ::)

Not necessarily true, but I understand why you would think that.
Our kind are under ASSAULT FROM EVERY FACET OF SOCIETY. Think about why some of us may not want to hear that some Leftist (Fascist) thought or person should get accolades.
-

How can you be so blind to your progressive, groupthink delusions?
-
Yes, both sides have groupthink, but only the left’s groupthink is based on fantasy as opposed to reality, and enforced viciously with social and professional ostracism. Nobody on the right is banning anyone from this forum. But the president of the United States was banned from social media by the left.
-
The fact that mikey can make such a stupid statement when he supports censorship, doxing and repression against anyone that speaks an unapproved opinion tells you how delusional he is in his projection and ignorance.
-

As the OP, I was actually just commenting that PS was slow last weekend, not that anyone had left the forum.
But thanks for coming back to play the victim. I missed that.

You make an appropriate point. I would love to talk to a leftist like Mikey to understand if they are as upset as CNNMSNBC at the thought of Elon Musk potentially actually freeing Twitter from the bane of its own censorship. The left side seems to have their panties in a wad.

The left is full of drama queens, desperate for attention and willing to pretend anything to be part of the crowd. The idea of people thinking for themselves and coming up with their own opinions and values is heresy to a leftist.
Add to that their obsession with power, even to the point of slaughtering the unborn and recently born to prove how powerful they are, and you have a subset of Americans willing to murder to make themselves feel good.
Then they have come out of the closet as the fucking pedophile party and expect everyone to look the other way while they sexualize four and five years olds to find playthings over which to feel powerful, and you have not political movement but a fucking mental asylum.
-
The Left's arguments, positions and policies are based on purposeful DISHONESTY and FANTASY. Convince me otherwise.
-
Not sure Michael supports censorship as he is one of the PoA refugees here for the very reason he opposes it. However, he has yet to tell us what he thinks of Elon Musk, doxing, banning conservatives from universities, etc.
-

Thinking about this... isn't Ethanol production highly subsidized by the government? So "allowing" ethanol use in the summer isn't just polluting and ruining fuel efficiency, it's another government handout of OUR money back to us.

You mean handing OUR money to ADM and other big farming conglomerates.

Ah... thank you! Can't give money to the little people without Big Farma (not Pharma) getting its share.

I think the direct subsidies have been eliminated, but since the mandate is still in place, we are still subsidizing Big Farma (love that term!)

"Professor" Origami Stones doesn't like anyplace that allows Free Speech and doesn't promote, glorify and moderate to his Far-Left Fascist agenda. I am fine with who participates here and welcome newcomers, especially ones who aren't known as little, whiney, dishonest troublemakers.

I don’t think that’s true. He was one of the original supporters of creating an unmoderated forum when AOPA and PoA started banning politics. He’s never said anything about not allowing conservative viewpoints on this forum. He just gets tired of personal attacks. We’ve all always had one single thing in agreement with Michael and it was that we all disagreed with disallowing political debate on the other forums.

Wait, how would I know the difference?

Don’t forget tolerant. Democrats are tolerant of all diversity. Except diverse opinions from their own.

That's the most frustrating thing about The Left. They are all about diversity and tolerance except when it comes to tolerating a difference of opinion or someone with a diverse viewpoint. Then they don't (or actually, can't) debate the question, but do whatever they can to shut down the other side. Silence the other side and they win by default.
The thing is, I would really welcome a good debate on a subject. I am by no means expert on things gay or trans or migrant or economically disadvantaged or whatever. A good debate would force me to justify my position, do enough research so that I can stand my ground. If I can't support my opinion, then perhaps it (shudder) might be wrong. But say there's a discussion on for example immigration: We already have a pathway for immigrants to come into the country, it's been there for years, and it's worked fine. Maybe it needs to be adjusted a little bit but let's try getting people in the front door instead of them hopping the fence and breaking down the back door. The Left immediately says RACIST and cancels the debate and they "win". Assholes.

I agree, I like Mikhaila Peterson’s channel. She will get people on opposing sides and objectively allow them each to present their side.
The one on immigration was mind blowing. I actually agreed with both sides, they both had strong arguments. Bottom line is we need immigrants but it has to be legal, we can’t allow open borders. We have to know who is coming in.
The one on homeschooling was also very good, that one I was completely on the side of homeschoolers.
The one on sweatshops was eye opening. I thought I was completely against them but the pro guy made some compelling arguments.
The reality is there are very few things where one side is 100% right and the other 100% wrong because issues are very complex, a lot depends on the individual circumstances or from which context you’re looking at it. The immigration one for example, in the context of a true free market you want free immigration so labor can meet demand and so on. But we don’t have a free market, we are half socialist. Or more. So to the extent immigrants come to be parasites on taxpaying citizens it should be disallowed. But then you have to ask, are they always parasites? Maybe not, how many end up net contributors? Immigrants from where? Are there differences between Asian immigrants and Hispanic immigrants? If there are does that mean we should discriminate? That becomes distasteful. It gets really complex.
