My buddy has a '76 V35B that he bought with a new engine (IO-550 - 300 HP), and Colemill Starfire conversion with four blade Q tip prop.  The panel also had  a lot of upgrades, a Garmin 530, stormscope, King Flight Director, and a lot more.  He just dropped another $27K in the panel, but I forget which Garmin unit he upgraded to.  It is the nicest Bo I have ever seen personally, and no way is it worth $800K.

"Honey, the plane isn't selling. The market must be soft. To keep it in good shape I need to keep flying it, but it will sell soon. Don't worry."

B35 market:
low - $15k
High - $40k
Ave - $26k

I owned one of the 'low' market planes. invested about $6k getting it back into good fettle and sold it for $26k, spot on the ave market. They can be a good investment but they are hard to sell. $800k might be juuuuuuust a bit high.

Some one would have to be batshit crazy to pay that for that airplane.

When working at Beechcraft East I delivered a brand new A36 Bonanza that cost well north of $450,000. The left and right sides of the panel were identical. Both full stand alone IFR panels. The paint was a special order color and scheme. Three days later I had to go pick it up for return because the paint was not just right. That was 1984 when the average new Bonanza ran 250k-300k. A year or two old Bonanza could be had for ~150k.
Today the average new Bonanza is well upwards of 850k-900k:  Lookie Here (https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/list/?manu=BEECHCRAFT&mdltxt=G36+BONANZA) or Here (https://www.aircraftcompare.com/helicopter-airplane/Beechcraft-Bonanza-G36/85). First pic in the second link is of a V-tail but the rest of them below are of a G36.

Ya-but, the pic in the first link describes and shows a 1950 B35(with some updates). Nothing to do with a G36. BTW, not the same type cert. Just the moniker 'Bonanza'. Way diff plane.

Anyone claiming their Bo is an $800k plus bird is probably referrin to the accounting figures used to hide large earnings.
Kind of like the accountants that will tell you how Raiders of the Lost Ark is still in red, three billion dollars later.
