Lots of stuff in flux with this one.  First reports were about the center for special needs kids, which ended up being that a group pf county employees had rented a room for a holiday gathering.  Was there a bomb of some sort left behind or not?  Rumors that an attendee of the gathering left after an argument and came back to shoot the place up.

Who knows what it will turn out to be by tomorrow?

Stand by to stand by.

Spin Zone / Re: What Will the Downfall of the US Look Like?

We are well beyond the tipping point.  Number of folks in the workforce at an all-time low, food stamp recipients at an all time high, welfare reform totally gutted, many jobs taken down to 29 hours to be part time. None of that is likely to change.  The part that really has us over the edge though is the debt, now approaching $20T with no hope of it ever shrinking. Who was the last politician you ever heard say we're going to wok on paying down the debt?  You're lucky to get one to even talk about a balanced budget.  As the ACA continues to tank and requires more money from the government to keep it afloat, things can only get worse.  To even begin making a dent on the debt you would have to cut discretionary spending in half or raise taxes to increase revenue beyond expenditures and that will only produce more spending since we know politicians will trip over themselves to spend any excess money.  It's not going to be pretty.

I'm of the opinion that the US as we know/knew it is not going to be salvageable.  With that premise what do you believe we will see as signs backing this up.  I'll give you one sign I see today.  The seeming hatred of the first amendment on college campuses and the use of "free speech zones".  Will these college kids bring that with them into the "real world" as they try to assimilate into the work place?

Your turn.

Adams has been there quite awhile.  They haven't caged him yet.

Mike Adams, a professor at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington is not your stereotypical left-wing teacher. On the heels of a ]report that showed that liberal arts professors overwhelmingly support Democrats, Adams’ semester-opening statement to his students has gone viral.

I don't know, John.  The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and thus the GOP Establishment, are all supportive of "Immigration Reform" a/k/a amnesty.

This is a big issued dividing the Republican Party.  The establishment wants illegal immigration for cheap labor, and also wants to continue the big government, deficit spending almost in lock step with the Democrats.  They talk a good game, but in the end support the status quo.  The conservative group of Republicans want to blow it up, and actually be conservative.  This includes fiscal responsibility, and closed borders.  We'll see who wins.
I'll bet you a coke it will be the establishment and we'll continue on this carousal until our collapse.

In simple terms, we're fucked.  :)

I heard it is up to 33 states now.  Questions is what good does it do if any state takes the refugees can they not just head off wherever they want?

Meanwhile the "D: candidates tripped all over each other last night telling us how we should absolutely take some 60k refugees into our country, only after they are thoroughly vetted.  Just where does one go to thoroughly vet potential terrorists?

Perhaps the DOJ after the FBI is done with their investigation.  I can't help but wonder if Uncle Joe is sitting it out at this point because he knows something about this and will sweep in and come to the rescue at the last minute after Hillary is indicted?  I know, conspiracy theory stuff.

Kasich looked like a bully and just decided he was going to try and get the most time no matter what.  His comment on immigrants being good law abiding citizens was a bit over the top considering that most likely their first move here was to break the law in getting here.

I had a history professor in college that took a sabbatical to study why Jesus was crucified.  From his study he came away with that Jesus was crucified because he rode a donkey into the city on the Holy Day and using transportation was forbidden.  He said that Pilate was very concerned about not just having him crucified because the elder clergy wanted him gone.  I'm sure he'll be very disappointed to find out what he learned was just B.S.
