My first GA flight was as a left seat Pax to FFL. I flew most of the return trip.
Where did you fly from?

Edit:  Oh, duh. Probably from the North.

From the South it makes it damned hard to fly the coast.

If I were guessing, the topic line has attracted spammers with a certain type of links to post here, and our fair moderator has been doing yeoman's work deleting them but it still twigs the "last updated" date on the thread.
Interesting idea. Jason, I would endorse dumping this thread if it's causing you headaches. I think we all got the OP's message.

And if elected, an almost impossibility, and holds true, I'll buy you a coke.  Otherwise, I'll gladly accept a coke on your behalf. Deal?
Deal. Do you go to Oshkosh?

I would say that Sanders has principles.  I think his principles are ill informed and dead wrong, but I do believe that he truly believes the shit that comes out of his mouth and doesn't change it to suit changing political winds.

Hillary?  Excuse me while I laugh uncontrollably.

Trump has yet to demonstrate anything resembling a guiding principle.
True, but what has Sanders done with those principles since joining Congress in 1991?  Other than sponsoring bills renaming Post Offices, I'm not sure he took any risks that would cause him to lose his status as a career politician, going all the way back to becoming Burlington mayor in 1981.

He's shouting his principles now because it's his swan song.

The fantasy is trying to believe Cruz is any different from the other establishment lackeys.
And the fact that Trump was the buyer of influence and political corruption means nothing to you, does it?

And Cruz = Sanders.
Or do you really believe that Cruz is the one and only politician ever that won't change once he attains office and responsibility?
I won't speak for Jeff, but I think he is the one and only candidate running who has any chance of following through with his promises. He has principles, and followed through on them in his senate career, at great political cost. When has Trump, Sanders, or Clinton ever stood for something  even if it may cost them an election or political power or financial gains?

Are Nazis considered a protected class anywhere?

But regardless, absolutely not.
And neither should the baker be required to violate his/her religious beliefs either.
The New York City Council recently honored executed Soviet spy Ethel Rosenberg, so I guess anything is possible.

Spin Zone / Why Did Trump Run as a Republican?
« on: April 13, 2016, 09:45:26 AM »
This is a serious question. Why did someone who has expressed extreme hate for the GOP and the RNC, and who hasn't read the rules and refuses to acknowledge the rules, and wants the rules changed such that a plurality of delegates should automatically get the nomination, want to be this party's nominee?

Why does Trump want the GOP nomination, when he appears to be at odds with much of its platform, including the support for the Fifth Amendment and the platforms rejection of Kelo v. New London (pg. 13 of the Republican Platform 2012)?

Why didn't he just start his own party?  He could certainly afforded to do so. He could have set up a primary system where every  state has a Trump Party primary vote (no caucuses or conventions), and the plurality vote getter gets the nomination. It would be an excellent party, a beautify party, and the Trump Party voters would be fabulous people.

I despise the Republican establishment (the elected career politicians), but not the party of Lincoln.  That's why I engaged in significant debate over on POA that the Tea Party wanted to change the GOP from the inside, and not start a new party. However, I don't think Trump even knows the GOP was the party of Lincoln, or that it was started in 1854 in nearby Ripon, Wisconsin.

So why did Trump run as a Republican?

So you steadfastly believe the rules committee would not find a way to change the rules to somehow exclude Trump?
That's not what you implied - you implied that the RNC can unilaterally change the rules to keep Trump out.

But fine, I'll play. Yes, in theory the rules committee can probably do anything they wish. But the changes need to be voted on by all delegates. That's how Rule 40(b) came out of the 2012 Convention.  I understand that was pushed by Romney delegates to keep out wanna-bees who haven't run and won the majority of delegates from at least 8 states, and ironically would serve to keep Kasich, Ryan, and anyone else from securing the nomination, making this a strictly Trump-Cruz fight.

Do you think the Trump or Cruz delegates (when combined would clearly represent the majority of voting delegates) would allow a rule change getting rid of Rule 40(b)?

Ever been down to Florida?   ;D

Saturday I went from KISM to KSGJ.  That was fun.
I've never flow there, but when I got my PP in North Carolina near Charlotte, I was totally intimidated about going to First Flight airport because of that massive system of restricted  airspace, and thus never went there.

You really do believe that stuff don't you?
Can you show me when the Rules have been changed unilaterally and secretly in the past, say 50 years?

My take is that Democrats base their judgement on "feelings", and feeling can change with the circumstances.

Ds get all up in arms if I don't want to pay for some girls birth control, but have little sympathy for all the women and young girls that get kidnapped, enslaved, sold, tortured, raped and murdered in countries that hate us.
That hypocrisy is truly stunning, isn't it?

To make it through the day, especially during tax season, I often pull up AirNav, pick an airport, and then pull up the sectional map for that area. I park that on one of my 3 screens so I have something cool to look at.

Yesterday I pulled up KLAS, and was struck by the volume of MOAs and especially restricted airspace. How in the hell do you guys fly around there?  Do you see such air space expanding over the years?  What a pain in the ass.

The massive space north of LAS for Nellis is interesting. The MOAs seem to generally go from 100' AGL to 18,000' MSL, SR to SS Mon-Sat. Geeze, that's quite a restriction to GA flight!  (Yes, I know it's not always active, you can fly through an MOA, etc.).

Has anyone heard about what happens if someone accidentally wandered over to, say, Groom Lake?
