Title: Didn't Elizabeth Warren lecture us on income inequality??

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/04/05/women-in-elizabeth-warrens-office-make-less-than-men-report.html

Quote
The gender pay gap in Sen. Elizabeth Warren's office is nearly 10 percent wider than the national average, meaning women in the Massachusetts Democrat's office will have to wait longer than most women across the country to recognize Equal Pay Day.

Equal Pay Day, created two decades ago by the National Committee on Pay Equity, is scheduled by using the Census Bureau annual unadjusted gender pay gap to determine how far into the next year women would have to work to match annual earnings of men. Last year's figures, showing that women earned 79.6 percent of what men earned, put Equal Pay Day on Tuesday April 4, more than three months into the calendar year.

However, women working for Warren were paid just 71 cents for every dollar paid to men during the 2016 fiscal year, according to a Washington Free Beacon analysis.

Did the study normalize the salary levels based on grade level, qualifications and length of service?

She is a tool.  I don't understand this pay equality bullshit.  If you want pay equality, the mean wage for people over 20 is probably around $45,000.  Pay equality would mean everyone earned $45,000 or whatever the average is.   All this other stuff is bull.

Good points.  I find the discussion about equal pay a little tiresome because so many factors go into how someone is compensated.

Negotiating base salary up front
Negotiating merit increases, and bonuses up front
Leave of absences for child birth, and child upbringing
Totally leaving the workforce for the above, then returning with less experience, and/or skills

Plus there are others, that may affect women, and not men.  In my 30+ years in corporate management, I have never witnessed pay discrimination due to sex, nor race.

The cries of glass ceiling, and pay inequality is another divisive, identity politics driven tool used by the Democrats.  Shameful.

Yep, is does get tiresome.  Unlike you, I did see it occur (20-30 years ago), but over time that has lessened considerably.

If gender pay inequity is due to sexism, then why do women business owners almost always earn less, and pay less, than male business owners?

Do any of the equality studies, so-called, do that?

Why should they?  The Democrats NEVER do on this issue. That makes it way too complicated and it eviscerates the message. You just can't have that.

You never hear that question from liberals when the conclusion plays to their agenda.  But turn it around and the spin becomes dizzying.

A fair gripe.  That being said, do you have a issue when a conservative source (Washington Free Beacon & Fox News) uses equally dubious data, which plays to their agenda, to bash Sen Warren?

Spin is everywhere, the liberals do not have a monopoly on it.  ;)

True, but they are the majority shareholder.

This should probably rate it's own thread, but Jamie   Dimon wrote a good piece:

Quote
"It is understandable why so many are angry at the leaders of America's institutions, including businesses, schools and governments – they are right to expect us to do a better job," Dimon said. "Our problems are significant, and they are not the singular purview of either political party."

I don't read the Washington Free Beacon, and I don't get Fox News anymore, but I have not personally witnessed Fox using dubious data.  I'm not saying that it hasn't occurred, just never have witnessed it, and I used to be an ardent watcher.  Typically, they do (or did) a pretty good job of presenting both sides, often with left leaning outside guests, or their own left leaning hosts like Juan Williams, Bob Beckel, Shep Smith, Alan Colmes (deceased), etc.

Liberals cannot exist without victims. Their whole existence is based on a victim mentality.  None of their constituents are capable of taking care of themselves, they need government to fix it for them
