Title: Pennslyvania too close to call

Quote
Democrat Conor Lamb narrowly led Republican Rick Saccone with most precincts reporting in a special U.S. House election in Pennsylvania Tuesday night, but the race was still officially too close to call.

With all but 12 precincts reporting, Lamb held a razor-thin 700-vote lead over Saccone as he rode a wave of Democratic enthusiasm in a district that President Trump won by 20 points a mere 16 months ago.

Republicans are down 20 points in 16 months.  That is not good news.

It appears we've found the basis point for how much the Dems have to spend to gain a seat.

Hillary spent 2.5 times Trump and lost. Lamb spent 4 times Saccone and won.

Good to know what the price is.

Lamb just declared himself winner, but still have over 3,000 absentee ballots to be counted and he’s only up by 750 votes.  It hasn’t been called.

I would like to know the percentages of Lamb supporters s vs Saccone supporters that actually voted.

I think this was a result of Dems being more fired up and motivated because of their hatred of Trump, which is fanned daily by the MSM.  This is something we have to be aware of as we enter the mid-terms.  Dems will turn out in massive numbers.  Will the R's be similarly motivated.  I hope so, but I doubt it.  Rs just don't get so emotionally charged.

According to the Cook Report, the current district is +11R.

There isn't really a correlation to the what the new districts will look like.  Most of what is the 18th district geographically today will become the 14th district and will be strong democrat.  The new 18th district will be +14R.

I believe you'll find that Lamb ran on liking the tariffs, the tax cuts and is pro-gun.

When Democrats want to get elected, they lie about who they are.  When Republicans want to get elected, they tell the truth.

This is true, and should be disgusting to anyone, but folks fall for it all the time.  Run to the middle, govern from the left.

Republicans run to the right and then govern to the middle, which is also disappointing and a bit disingenuous but purely a result of the pressure from the partisan media to 'not be extreme' - something the Left rarely feels since they believe themselves to be the mainstream and they are told they are by their fellow travellers in the media.

So where does the family-values-Republican-with-male-escort come into play, here?

It doesn't matter what he ran on, just like it doesn't matter what he believes, and it doesn't matter if he is a good, honest man.

He will vote with Pelosi and the Democratic party on EVERY important issue or he won't get re-elected and his district will not get any perks.  THAT is all that counts.  The only time he will be "allowed" to vote against the party is if the party is assured of winning without his vote.  That is why I look down on people that say "I don't vote for the party, I vote for the man".  If you vote for a man with a D behind his name, you are voting for the Democrat party.

I just wish Republicans could be so disciplined sometimes.

His district will cease to exist soon.

He didn't have a Primary, so didn't have to go to the Left to win that.  Therefore, he was able to LIE, and run using more conservative positions.  He also out spent the Republican four, or five to one on TV ads.
