Twenty climate change protesters were arrested at Hanscom Field Airport in Bedford, Massachusetts, after they got on the ramp in front of FBO and generally disrupted operations. The airport was briefly closed while police were called to sort it all out, and the result was that most of the 25 or so protesters ended up arrested and facing disorderly conduct charges. All were released, either on a promise to appear in court or after posting a bond. A group called Extinction Rebellion confirmed it was behind the protest and told WCVB News they were there for a “peaceful, non-violent, non-destructive act of civil disobedience” over the airport’s bid to add 17 new business jet hangars at the field.

The group said protesters formed circles around the landing gear of aircraft and stood in front of them to prevent them moving on the ramp. They also blocked the doors of several FBOs to keep people from getting out to the ramp. The protest was aimed at Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, who they said ran on environmental protection ticket. “She has allowed this expansion to happen while she sits silently and passively, pretending to be on the side of climate,” Jamie McGonagill, a spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion Boston, told the TV station. Healey’s office told the station the hangar proposal is under environmental review.

DALLAS, TX — Airline passenger Lyle Finch defied the odds Thursday when he stood up faster than anyone else on American Airlines flight 2211 after it had come to a complete stop. Finch was subsequently awarded the gold medal to honor his incredible speed and initiative.

"They said it couldn't be done, but I proved them all wrong. Look at me, everyone! I'm standing up!" said a clearly emotional Finch. "This is for you, mom!"

According to sources, Finch trained his entire life to be the first person to stand up on the plane after it had landed and come to a complete stop. It was always his dream to be up first and ready to leave as soon as humanly possible.

"At first I did it because I hate flying and don't want to be on these terrible planes one millisecond longer than I have to," Finch reflected in an interview with ESPN's SportsCenter. "But now I do it for the kids. They need a good role model."

Commentators have reportedly questioned the purpose of honoring such a skill when it accomplishes nothing. "So he stands up first. Whoopdedoo," said another passenger. "It doesn't get him off the plane any faster. I've seen people wait a half hour to get off the plane after it stops — and they just stand there the whole time like a moron."

At publishing time, Lyle Finch signed deals with Wheaties and Nike.

Richard McSpadden, the senior vice president of the AOPA Air Safety Institute died, along with one other person, in the crash of a Cessna 177RG near Lake Placid Airport in upstate New York Sunday. McSpadden was in the right seat. The other person has not been identified. AOPA spokesman Eric Blinderman told AVweb early reports indicate the Cardinal had “an emergency on takeoff” from Lake Placid shortly before 5 p.m. “They tried to get back but didn’t make the runway,” said Blinderman. The nature of the emergency wasn’t immediately known. He said more information will be available on Monday.

McSpadden was a former commander of the USAF Thunderbirds air demonstration team and joined the Air Safety Institute in 2017. He was well known in the GA community for his analyses of accidents and the safety related content he and his staff created for free distribution. He was also highly regarded by his many friends and colleagues. “We are beyond heartbroken,” said Blinderman. “This is the worst kind of news to process as a friend, colleague and fellow aviator.” He is survived by his wife Judy, son Grant and daughter Annabel.

Well my experience speaks for itself! I’ve flown pointy nosed jets in the upper flight levels at supersonic speeds.

Been on missions that will make the layman’s head spin so fast they’d think they’re a figure skater.

I’m highly respected and revered, as well as highly recommend for business opportunities even outside of my wheelhouse. Nowadays, I use that experience to transport thousands of people in sophisticated transport category jets.

Ive flown fast and high in lands thousands of miles wide. So racing these prop planes is most definitely in my wheelhouse and expertise. That’s the experience level I’m trying to offer to you fine folks on here. The least I I could get is a “thanks”

WILMINGTON, DE — The Biden family breathed a sigh of relief and launched into celebratory festivities after it was announced that President Joe Biden's son, Hunter, had been indicted on charges of felony gun possession.

"Just the gun charges? That's great news!" said Hunter's stepmother, Jill. "We were expecting so much worse. The really disgusting stuff on his laptop, bribery, sex trafficking, drug dealing, conspiracy to defraud the United States, treason…we thought it would be something really bad. But gun possession? Oh, this is such a great day!"

After nearly reaching a plea deal earlier this year to avoid trial, Hunter Biden now faces the possibility of the Department of Justice pretending to prosecute him. "This will definitely cramp Hunter's style a little bit," said one family source. "But come on. He's not only a Democrat, but he's also a Biden. He's untouchable. He'll be back out on the street, smoking a crack pipe and taking selfies with hookers before you know it."

President Biden only offered one brief statement on the matter. "My son Hunter is only guilty of one thing," the president said. "He's guilty of me loving him too much and being too proud of him. That, and the money stuff we did with Ukraine and China. But that's all. Charbinzigafit."

In response to the indictment, CNN announced it would launch a full investigation into whoever made the call to indict Hunter. "They're not going to get away with this," a CNN insider said. "We've been given strict orders to learn the truth about this and nothing else."

At publishing time, the indictment was rumored to be in jeopardy after news circulated that the DOJ had the Special Counsel who indicted Hunter Biden indicted.

NEW YORK, NY — As New York City continues to face a growing crisis due to ongoing waves of illegal migrants flooding into the city, Mayor Eric Adams reached out to the state of Texas to ask if they still had any of those cowboys with the whips.

Sources within the Texas Governor's office disclosed Mayor Adam's' request was turned down. "He seemed pretty disappointed when he found out we don't actually have cowboys riding around whipping people crossing the border," said the source who asked to remain anonymous. "He was really hoping the fake media uproar last year was a real thing. It's sad."

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to mounting criticism of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnel's fitness to serve, the Republican party has replaced McConnell with a far more lifelike cardboard cutout of the Kentucky senator, according to sources.

"This will provide us with much more functional leadership," said GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. "This cardboard cutout is a vast improvement, with its static depiction of Senator McConnell being far more lively and interactive than the real, human version. No one even noticed for over a week."

Serious questions have been raised over McConnell's competency after he suffered more than one public episode in which he fell alarmingly silent while speaking to the press. "Replacing him with a life-sized cardboard cutout will silence a lot of these critics," said a GOP insider. "While the transition will feel rather seamless during press conferences, we're expecting to get a lot more productivity and collaboration with the cardboard cutout behind the scenes."

Congressional Democrat leaders applauded the move while stating this would not present any change in their ability to move their legislative agenda forward. At publishing time, a group of high-ranking government leaders were engaged in secret backroom meetings to discuss how much easier it may be to simply replace every member of Congress over the age of 65 with a cardboard cutout.

SEATTLE, WA — Liberal man Jonathan Seymour passed away, dying on the toilet as he awaited instructions from the Center for Disease Control on how to wipe his own butt.

"I kept telling him to just go for it," said housemate Ronald Mills. "Jonathan just wouldn't take the risk."

Officials say Mr. Seymour became severely dehydrated as he refused to move from the toilet for either food or water. "What am I supposed to do??" cried Mr. Seymour, desperate for guidance. "I can't to do this alone! Front to back? Back to front? Folded or unfolded? How many squares? Speak to me, Fauci!"

Sadly, bereft of instruction from the CDC, Mr. Seymour remained on the commode until his untimely passing. "It's really tragic," said Mr. Mills. "No one should ever die because they don't know how to wipe. I promise you this, I will not rest until the CDC issues guidance on how a person is supposed to wipe their butt. If I can save just one person from dying on the toilet, it feels like Jonathan's death will have meant something."
