Spin Zone / Re: Tuition Free College........

Where does it end?  Should we demand that all citizens obtain Ph.D. degrees?

Why should "central planners" in Washington decide these matters? Do you believe people are to dumb to find a way to help themselves, and therefore the country reach it's maximum potential?

Spot on Joe.  The social engineering Progressives just can't help but create bigger government for what they term is "the greater good".  Education should take place at the local level.  The Feds should have nothing to do with it.

We don't need more Philosophy major college graduates, nor "women's studies" majors, etc.  We need tradesmen, craftsmen, and people that can fix, and make stuff.  More taxpayer provided college will just get us even more fast food workers with B.A. degrees in some worthless major.  Get a reality check Progressives.

The EPA, IRS, NSA, etc are all out of control.  The entire Federal Bureaucracy is out of control.

One thing you can say about Trump, like him or hate him, is that he has made people take a hard look at both sides, and has actually made them talk about real issues confronting this country.

This is where I appreciate Trump.  He is anti PC as I think much of this country is but we've been bullied by corporations, the media, education, government, etc.  I like his focus on the economy, the 2A, and illegal immigration.  However, is he saying these things just to win the primary, or does he really believe them?  I'm not so sure.

And the sycophant Millennial Bernie supporters can't even grasp that power would be so concentrated in the political elite that they would lose all say in their lives, probably because they've never read a history book that was longer than 140 characters.

I am beginning to think they don't want a say in their lives.  It's too hard.

Same old, same old.  In the 22 years I've been flying, I think this has come up every year.  Privatize, user fees........

How come the thing government SHOULD be involved in, they don't want to be?  National transportation sounds like a government function, and I deplore government outside of what they should be doing Constitutionally, but this sounds like one of them.

We are no longer a sovereign state, but just a land mass with people, and things.  Why did our fathers and grand fathers die in Vietnam, Europe, Korea, and other locations around the globe?  Illegal immigrants are invading, and we aren't doing anything to protect the legal citizens of America.

Thanks Obama.

The reason we have seen a "march to socialism" as Dave says is not because of capitalism failing.  It is due to our government making it too difficult to actually exercise capitalism.  We don't have capitalism anymore.  We have regulations, and taxes, and more regulation, and taxes.  In addition we are dealing with a cabal of government/media/education which has been indoctrinating people for the last fifty or more years to be essentially communists.  The urban centers are taking over entire states and dictating their politics just by sheer numbers.  We are becoming a Blue country due to the urban centers and their corruption.  Combine that with the indoctrination by our institutions, and you get what we have now.  Fascist Failure.

Liberalism has morphed into the PROGRESSIVE movement.  It is a mental disorder.  I do not know how else to explain it.

The plain truth is that Trump would make an abysmal president.

Maybe, maybe not.  How do you know that?  He is not stupid.  He can learn, and he can lead.  He also can speak his mind, and stand up to people unlike the little fairy man Obama.  I'm not a big Trump fan as I tend to not like blowhards, and braggarts.  I support Cruz, but if Trump is the nominee I will vote for him.

This is why the Democrats have enjoyed so much support since the times of FDR. There are tens of millions of Americans that will never have this better than average job that allows them healthcare and retirement. The very tenants of Capitalism are antithetical to high quality living for all. To generate the highest possible profit from your capital investment. That means paying your workers the least you can get away with. This is why socialism even exists. If capitalism worked fantastically for everyone in society, there would be no purpose for socialism. This has never been the case anywhere in the world.

To dismiss socialism as just a corrupt ideal is to dismiss billions of people all over the world as hapless morons bound to their fate. For better, or for worse, the 19th and 20th centuries have created the environment for the hapless morons to organize and wield power. Savvy capitalists understand this and provide wages and benefits to their workers so they can keep socialism at bay. You find this most often in privately held companies and corporations. Publicly traded corporations and the stock market is where you see the break down between capital and human being.

You're wrong Dave.  Plain wrong.  I'll tell you why.  Capitalism isn't perfect, but it is MERIT based and offers the most opportunity overall.  What socialism does is give GOVERNMENT all the power over you.  They control you, and their motivation is not to help you but sustain and grow themselves.  Power and wealth gets further consolidated to fewer, and fewer while a few crumbs get passed along to the populace.  Government is not merit or performance based.  They are not held accountable in the market place.  They DO NOT HAVE TO operate efficiently, or do a good job.
