Title: CNBC must have just had an epiphany
Post by: Little Joe on May 05, 2017, 07:26:48 AM
Guess what!  The so-called "unemployment" rate that every Democrat was bragging about under Obama does not necessarily tell the whole story.

http://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/05/heres-the-real-unemployment-rate.html

Quote
The national unemployment rate fell to 4.4 percent in April, the Labor Department said Friday. But relying on that one headline number as an indicator for the economy as a whole ignores important information just below the surface. . .

. . .
One of those figures is called the U-6 rate, which has a broader definition of unemployment than does the U-3. In April, that number fell three-tenths of a point to 8.6 percent.

I have been saying this for many years.  The unemployment rate that the Obama Admin touted as "good" was not a meaningful measure.  The labor participation rate is a much better indicator.  The BIASED media of course will now admit that since Trump is President, and their hero, Obama is out playing with Richard Branson, Oprah, and Tom Hanks.

I wish someone would also investigate the CPI (rate of inflation) numbers because I also think they were understated during Obama, and maybe even Bush.

The high employment under Obama was fake, but the same thing under Cheeto Benito has to be true.  Whatever.

Correct. I don't think anybody here will argue that point. I think the point trying to be made instead was that under Obama the unemployment rate was factoring in only certain elements which made the unemployment rate look lower than it really was.

We can argue that the same is true under Trump, but the BIG DIFFERENCE (pay attention Michael) is that NOW the media decides to broadcast it, and they didn't under Obama.

Actually, the point was that the numbers that were released were similar for both Obama and Trump.  Except that the press only reported the numbers that made the Obama administration look good.  Now the media is pointing out the numbers that make the Trump administration look "not so good".

What's the matter Michael? Does the truth about unemployment trigger you? Maybe some play doe and crayons will help you relax...

You said it better than I did.  The media's job for the last 60 years has NOT been to report the news.  The media's job is to advance their liberal/progressive agenda which they had reinforced mainly in liberal arts, and journalism schools.  Ask a journalist or lawyer why they chose their field, and most will say things like, "to change the world", "to make a difference", "to right past injustices", "level the playing field" etc.  Rarely do you hear, "report the facts", "be clear, concise, and balanced".  They are not "news" people, they are now, and have been for several decades, feel good propagandists, and liars.

I have NO problem with OPINION commentators, but don't call what you say as the news, and don't call yourselves "journalists", or news people.

The FAKE NEWS (propaganda) is being put out strictly by CNN, NBC/CNBC/Comcast, ABC/ESPN/Disney, CBS, PBS, Netflix. Yahoo, Google, NYT, Washpo, LA Times, most other newspapers, and cable networks/providers.

The so-called "high employment" under Obama was fake.
And it is still high under Trumps 100 days or so.

The difference is the way the Press lies about it to make Obama look good and Trump to look bad.  But it isn't working because it makes the press look like clowns and it proves Obama was a failure.

Also different is that Obama had eight years to fix it. Trump has inherited the situation.

It is apparent that you choose to hate people based solely on their skin color.
That is the truest form of racism and you seem to revel in it.
I guess progressives really are the worst racists on earth.
You certainly are.

The democrats (liberal/progressives) have perfected racism and use it extensively.

All it takes is a bit of research on the history of the democrat party to see their racist roots and how they used it to promote themselves.

If you think about how easy it should be get people to vote for a Democrat, they offer everyone something for free so who wouldn't vote for that, yet Hillary was sooooooooooo bad.

Well Hillary tried to out Bernie, Bernie with all the "free" stuff when she realized he was getting some traction, but the DNC put a stop to his rise.  Free college, free healthcare, free, free, free, free........
