Yep, those were the words he used.

Not quite as definitive as LBJ's statement of "If nominated, I will not run, if elected I will not serve", but about as close as you can get without plagiarizing LBJ.
Those words were the first time LBJ spurred me to cheer him!

More (albeit anectodal) proof that political elections are really selections.

I am not going to comment to each bit of brain-dead vitriol made by people that cannot read and comprehend.

My point remains that Hillary is not good, but better than who the idiot GOP are going to put up.  But don't worry, I half expect that the fruit of right-wing, misogynistic attacks on Hillary for the last few decades may well result in President Sanders.  It is not going to result in President Cruz or President Trump.  Both of whom would make Obama look like a consummate statesman.

Most of you don't seem  to understand the electoral college and how it works.  I am not going to bother explaining it to you, but you can Google it, if you can.  For those that don't know anything about California, other than that is where you lettuce comes from, let me clue you in.  California will vote for the Democrat nominee and he/she will get ALL of the states electoral votes.  It matters not who I vote for.  So my none-of-the-above vote is for me and my conscience.

I won't know whether to laugh or cry with Bernie/Hillary packs the court with leftists after the GOP manages to lose control of the Senate as well.  The stupid stands they have taken to refuse to compromise, when a democracy only works with compromise, are going to drive the party out of power.  The GOP self-crucifixion on the cross of ideological purity, which is apply on display here, will and is allowing the Dems to move hard to the left and still win the national elections.

As for you supplicants to the alter of the Constitution-as-written, don't know what you are talking about.  I am sure that none of you have studied constitutional law.  The Constitution has been morphing for 230+ years.  Right or wrong, that ship has sailed.  Get over it.  Like Scalia, you are using that as a justification for your preconceived policy choices which is as much judicial activism as that which drove Roe v. Wade.

What a load of sanctimonious, self-righteous, smarter-than-thou horse shit.  The bit about mysoginism and the bigoted crucifix reference were particularly idiotic.  Here's your sign.... Next?

In other words, blowhard liberals are allowed to disrupt, threaten and pillage at republican events and Trump is at fault because he hurt them with his words.   Some of you guys should really read what you write sometimes.  F the protesters.

I wonder if Bryan with a "Y" and Aunt Peggy are singing it together... :) :) :)
In concept, it's a nice philosophy.  In reality, it's "You be you, and I'll be me, but if you're not like me, you're defective and must be labeled and squashed."

Conservatives are way better at letting everyone be who they are, I suspect because we see that world can be an unforgiving place (see Nature) and we must learn to deflect life's arrows, determine cause and effect, and endure hardship for greater gain.  Liberals, not so much.

Federal agencies serve at the pleasure of the President.  He can shut them down legally.  I'd start with Education.  Remember, we are a COLLETION OF STATES FIRST.

What are you, a radical right wing Constitutionalist?  Or a RACIST!!!! ;)

The celebrities aren't going anywhere. Outside of the U.S., they have no money, fame and certainly no power. Nobody cares about them. Remember that these are the same people who say they are part of the party of tolerance and diversity and that free speech is something that should be championed, at least until you disagree with them.

I was never a waiter either, but I did bartend in college.  If I hear Marco Rubio tell me his dad was a bartender again, I'm going to puke.  Oh yeah, and Kasich constantly tells me his dad was a mail man.  My dad was a dentist.  Should I feel guilty?
WHITE PRIVILEGE!!!!!!

But in all seriousness, that could suck having a dad as a dentist. Did he ever threaten to do a filling without Novocain if you didn't straighten up?  ;)

Wouldn't it be nice if the Freedom of Speech was taught in colleges?

It is, and you can write anything that parrots the Progressive agenda.

You thought the last debate was wild, you ain't seen nothing yet.  I don't know about Cruz, but Rubio is working from the same script that was given to Romney for his speech this morning.  I'm guessing the same money people are behind it.  The best politicians money can buy, yet they can't buy Trump and it is pissing them off to no end.

Spin Zone / An Open Letter to Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio

An open letter to Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Marco Rubio:

Gentlemen, I believe the games are over.  You each have sadly taken the bait from the "media" debate moderators, and have attacked each other without remorse.  It has diminished each of you in my eyes, and in the eyes of many Conservatives.  That in turn has made the race for the GOP nomination more of a reality TV show than a process to select the leader of the free world.  This has to stop NOW.  You each, in your own way, carry the Conservative mantle.  I frankly don't care what happened with the Gang of Eight, or who supported what ten years ago.  Those days are OVER.  What matters NOW is who you are as men, and what you will do in the future on behalf of this great nation.

You are both running against a charlatan.  With the exception of his bravado about the border, Donald Trump has yet to give a full-throated embrace of Conservative ideals.  He embraces the use of Eminent Domain to give one citizen's property to a private party; he recently said we need to "open up" the libel laws, effectively making the First Amendment a thing of the past; he has admitted to "buying" politicians, and has contributed over $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation, and hundreds of thousand more to the very politicians who fight to this day against Conservative causes; and he has supported gun control and the assault weapons ban, making the Second Amendment yet another part of the Constitution that would be at risk under a President Trump.

The fight should be against Hillary Clinton, and her socialist/progressive agenda.  However, you have an impediment in Donald Trump that is preventing you from taking the fight where it belongs.

I implore - no, as my preferred GOP presidential candidates, I insist - that you both cease and desist from the fighting between the two of you, and that you join forces to overcome the impediment in Donald Trump so that one of you becomes the candidate who can defeat Hillary Clinton in the general election. This detent must begin tonight at the debate hosted by Fox News.  The National Review Online article by Randy Barnett provides you both with the way forward, while preserving the right of the GOP electorate to select their preferred candidate, and eliminating the chaos of a brokered convention.

I expect to see two leaders on the stage tonight.  Please don't disappoint me.

I remember when his Dad was PM.  He was a train wreck too.
As someone who lived through Senior's term as PM, I still cannot say the name without needing to spit on the ground afterwards.  Junior is on course to complete many of his father's worst projects.

Actually, according to my large animal veterinarian daughter, cows have UDDERS, not UTTERS.

Not many dairy farms in your parts, huh?  You should get out to the Midwest more often.

Udderly ridiculous.

OK, so assuming it comes down to Trump vs Hillary, with everything that is on the line (SCOTUS, Obamacare, future of the nation, you know little things, etc.) - who do you pull the handle for?

'Gimp
I typically vote for the most electable conservative candidate.  I honestly don't think Trump is electable.  However, the Democratic Death Star will be aimed at whoever the GOP puts up, and Trump seems to have stronger deflector shields than Rubio or Cruz.  While Trump is not reliably conservative, he is also not reliably liberal.  He cancels himself out, I think.  Which makes him the kind of blank slate that Obama was and is:  He is whatever a voter wants him to be.  That has not worked out well.

I know, I haven't answered your question.  Let's just say it would be really, really repugnant to me to vote for an adulterer who is also a childish bully, and give him the nuclear codes.  I have eight months to swallow the bile he raises in me.  We'll see.
