Spin Zone / Re: In what way does my firearm...

With over 10,000,000 gun owners, I'm thinking that the percentage is probably off by an order of magnitude (or two).
Speaking of order of magnitude, I believe there are in excess of 100 million, not 10 million gun owners. Over 1/3 of Americans own a firearm.

They don't.  Legally owned firearms possessed by law abiding citizens are the target of the Democrats as that is the last line of defense against their totalitarian, communist regime.  Hillary is a perfect example as is Obama.  They are fine with guns if their security detail has them.  In fact they wouldn't leave their homes if they didn't have men armed with guns by their side.  We can't afford a cadre of armed security.  They know that, but don't care about our safety as they want to ban and confiscate our legally owned firearms.
Now now, Hillary, Obama et al are not "ordinary Americans," the term used by Chris Wallace yesterday when discussing Trump's statement that Hillary's security detail should be disarmed.

They are elite royalty, and should be treated as such.

So SILENCE!!!!!  Turn in your guns, you peasant, and cease speaking ill of our royalty, lest you have your tongue cut out.

Not all bombings are terrorism.
They aren't?  Then what are they?

Pilot Zone / Training Sortie in a PT-26
« on: September 18, 2016, 08:12:54 PM »
I recently was approved as a pilot sponsor in the CAF Wisconsin Wing's Fairchild PT-26, a 1943 primary trainer.

My first training sortie is in the books!  My concerns were:

1.  Don't screw up in front of Vic, a super pilot (flew KC-135's in Vietnam, flew 767s for a major airline, and owns his own Harvard) and

2.  Don't bend this beautiful 1943 aircraft.

I pretty much accomplished both objectives, except when I spoke to Tower I kept saying "Cutlass niner...er, correction, Fairchild niner four seven four Hotel..."  I'm such a moron.

We did some air work, steep turns, stalls (Note to self:  this is NOT a Cessna, it's a Warbird, and will bite you if you aren't careful.  If (when) the wing drops in a stall, use sufficient rudder, NOT ailerons, to lift the wing), and then headed back to the airport for landings.

This aircraft is a beautiful flyer, and does exactly what you ask of it.  Pattern work was very good, it was easy to nail 80 mph (not knots) on downwind, base and final, maintaining that speed until the flair.

My landings were pretty good.  Runway alignment was not too tough with the massive rudder, wide landing gear, and heavy weight.  This is a 2,800 lb. aircraft, and gave no indication of wanting to fly again when the angle of attack increased when the tail fell.  We basically did full stall three point landings, but avoided having the tail touch first given her age.

Take offs are very smooth, without much desire to depart the centerline if you maintain adequate right rudder.  The tail raises by itself, and she tells you when she she's ready to fly.  It takes a lot of right rudder on climb out, and doesn't go anywhere very fast, so your right leg will be tired once you hit your cruise altitude.

Overall, I was very happy with the flight, and I think Vic was as well.

As I was lying on my back wiping the oil from the belly, I thought about the number of 18-22 year old young men who flew this aircraft in 1943-1945 enroute to flying fighters, bombers, and anything else to help in the war effort.  I am humbled to have the opportunity to even touch this aircraft, let alone fly it.

Thank you, Commemorative Air Force, for making today possible for me.

Spin Zone / Re: November Best Case Scenario

Does it really matter anymore?

With Hillary's health problems and the coming reveal next month that she has Parkinson's, she isn't going to get elected.

Today I ready this http://www.latimes.com/politics/, which puts Trump up 6.4% in the national poll, well past the tipping point.  It will take the electoral polls a few days to catch up, but my math today puts Trump at 290 electoral votes.
I'm holding my breath until November.  Trump's ability to insert his head up his ass is only exceeded by The Clinton Machine's ability to go scorched earth in her desperate attempt to secure her coronation.

Spin Zone / Re: Betsy Ross Flag Is Racist

LINK

"A Michigan school district called the historic “Betsy Ross” flag a symbol of hate and profusely apologized after students displayed the flag at a recent high school football game.

“To wave a historical version of our flag, that to some symbolizes exclusion and hate, injects hostility and confusion to an event where no one intended to do so,” wrote Forest Hills Public Schools Superintendent Daniel Behm in a letter to parents."
The next thing the Superintendent should write is his letter of resignation for being such a stupid fucker.

Didn't you hear?  At some mysterious place and point in time, democrats and republicans stopped the game, switched jerseys, and continued the game while confusing observers as to who the racists actually were.

It's so strange watching this happen. I pulled up the Rush clip I think Anthony is talking about. He is trying desperately to explain away what is clearly a liberal, government-expanding policy. I can hear it in his voice when he moves on to tax breaks for people caring for elderly people.

Meanwhile many real conservatives are locked in an internal battle over whether to support Trump. Interesting election year, for sure.
I will have to vote for Trump, as the alternative is unthinkable. But I won't be "supporting" him beyond my vote.

I didn't hear it, but supposedly Rush did a good job of explaining it today, and indicated it will be revenue neutral.  I do think he is pandering to women with this one in order to take some of the women vote from Hillary.  We'll see.
I've stopped listening to Rush. He abandoned decades of conservatism to be a cheerleader for his liberal golfing buddy.

Nobody is in Reagan's class.  Nobody. However, I did like Trump's economic speech.
I did too.

This daycare entitlement is pissing me off.

Reagan was the standard bearer of the democrats for a long time before he became a republican conservative and kicked Jimmy Carter to the curb.
Here's Reagan's "A Time for Choosing" speech from 1964, 12 years before he first ran for president, and 16 years before he became president.

Is Trump capable of giving such a definitional speech today, as the GOP's nominee?  Not in my book.

You were not the target of Hillary's comments.  Moderates were the target, to drive them away from being associated with the deplorables.  Even if said deplorables were really straw men and exist at most in very small numbers.

To me, she just comes across as desperate but I've already recognized that nothing that comes out of her mouth is true.  Every single word is calculated to manipulate someone.
I believe she was targeting gun-owning, white Christians. All of us.
