987 fatal police shootings
68 of the victims were unarmed; that’s down from 94 unarmed people in 2015, but up from 51 in 2016
223 Black people were shot and killed by police (23 percent of all fatal shootings, despite accounting for 13.3 percent of the population); that is 10 fewer than in 2016
179 Latinx people were shot and killed by police (18 percent; they make up 17.8 percent of the population); that is 19 more than in 2016
236 (24 percent) of the victims were experiencing mental distress at the time of their death
99 (10 percent) of the deaths were caught on body cameras
So, it still looks like white people are getting killed more often by police than blacks. Oh, and blacks murdering blacks has the highest numbers, but hey, we're not suppose to talk about that.

Thanks for doing the research - those look like reasonable numbers.
The problem with the graphic you posted was the fact that its source was made up and no one could come up with the same numbers, so Trump got the usual abuse by the TDS crowd when he retweeted a while back. His critics managed to change the focus to him instead of the real numbers, thus overlooking the sad reality shown by those numbers.
(Oddly, I would not have known the graphic was bogus except I came across it just a couple days ago doing an image search looking for some other crime stat graph and clicked-through to see it was on an old blog that was debunking it. They showed what they believed the real numbers were using FBI stats - their stats were about what you found. If I hadn't seen it just two days ago I'd have assumed your graphic was legit.)
