Title: Why Some GOPers are Calling the Relief Package the 'Swamp Bill'
Post by: Lucifer on March 14, 2020, 07:37:26 AM
This shit needs to stop, and if the republicans regain control they need to change the house rules to allow a minimum time before a vote (48 hours?) to allow reps to read it, then request a debate if necessary.

Fuck all you low life politicians that pushed this through and you fuckin' lame ass's that voted for it.  You are all scum and lower than whale shit in my book.

Quote
According to Rep. Chip Roy (TX), House members were given the final version of the bill a half hour before they were supposed to vote on it. They didn't have time to read it, debate it or make any amendments. Things were jammed through.

Quote
Rep. Jim Banks raised concerns about a "rushed a second short-sighted emergency bill, passed in the middle of the night and behind closed doors, that does more harm than good."

"While there are some good things in the bill, we don't know the final price tag. Some language will mean major harm for small businesses and our economy," Banks said in a statement. "Moreover, it greases the skids for massive bailout packages for industries forced to implement these costly policies. Our national debt is nearing $23.5 trillion--our children's generation can't afford it."

Although Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) refused to vote, he said the reason was because of the excess, non-coronavirus related things that were thrown into the bill.

And this is a Pelosi trademark:

Quote
Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) on Thursday sounded the alarm on Speaker Nancy Pelosi's desire to jam the bill through.

"Speaker Pelosi is trying to push through a partisan bill on coronavirus funding, which is an important issue that we all care about. The bad thing is she didn't talk to Republicans or the president about it and they're trying to sneak in all these provisions that Democrats want that have nothing to do with the coronavirus and that will cost taxpayers billions of dollars," Lesko said in a video.

I’m through with the Democrats and the Republicans. Fucking swamp.

How in the HELL can a politician vote for a package they haven’t read and understood. How fucking irresponsible is that?

You answered your own question.  They are politicians.  They have to look like they are doing SOMETHING even if that something actually does nothing.  "Look!  We passed the happy fuzzy bunny anti horrible virus bill.  Yay!"  And now watch in two to three months when it all goes away they will be patting themselves on the back for being so wonderful.

Reminds me of the Beverly Hillbillies episode where Granny made the magic cold elixir.  Take it and in a week to ten days your cold will be gone.

They are doing worse than nothing. Packed in those bills are things that lead to long lasting damage to our lives, our freedom, the nation’s security and the economy.

Pelosi let slip that this is SOP for Congress when she said we have to pass Obamacare so we can then read it and see what’s in it. How we the people tolerate this shit is beyond me.

Correct.  They are USING this manufactured "crisis" as a way to further grow government, get more spending to buy more votes, and FURTHER limit our freedom and liberty.

Can more gun control laws based on the panic from the virus be far behind?  We already have 22,000 gun laws on the books, and crime committed by people using a gun is ALREADY ILLEGAL.  We're already seeing it in some cities like Champagne, IL.

If I recall your close personal buddy Paul Ryan campaigned on providing house members with notice before a vote.  Too bad he couldn’t pull that off when he was the Speaker of the House.
