I find myself using Google Keep in addition to my calendar to keep organized.

I just think he, and some others did not agree with the conservative thought viewed in SZ although I thought both sides were well represented, progressive, and conservative/libertarian.  They just didn't like hearing stuff they didn't agree with, and couldn't stop reading SZ for lack of self control.  Yes, prefer boobs to penises also!    ;D

From my experiences, the pilot community as a whole is largely conservative.  From what I saw in SZ, it was largely dominated by opinions typical of the right side of the aisle.  That's not to say that other views weren't expressed -- but it was still largely conservative regardless.  The problem is that most non-conservatives view conservatives as assholes ;)

He was kind of a funny guy sometimes, but then was out of his league in the SZ. He should have stuck to humor.

That's generally true of anybody that makes their first dive in to debate.  It takes some time until folks realize what they don't understand well enough.  I know plenty of people that couldn't hold a conversation on world events for quite some time initially, but eventually could.  It wouldn't be fair to discount somebody for not having sufficient time to figure out how to have something to add.

Perhaps you are right, and perhaps I overstated his reasons.

But I don't remember you getting on your high horse after the decision was made and proclaiming how right the POA MC was for disbanding it and how it was our fault  and how we shouldn't be allowed to continue on uncensored like we were and that it was good that we were going away.

Yet he contributed very little.  His "comedy" was boring and childish, or obscene,  and his aviation content revolved around "Daddy's plane".

You're right -- I didn't get up on a high horse because it wasn't my decision to make.  I thought it was a shitty thing to do, but well within the right of the board of directors of the legal entity that owns POA.  I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall on those offline conversations that led to the ultimate closure of the SZ, though.

But I have to disagree that he contributes very little.  A lot of his content is fluff, but I enjoy his fluff and humor, and there is real content in his submission history.  I like to laugh and enjoy some penis humor now and then.

Daddy's airplane or not, he's a pilot (and actively looking to purchase his own).  Many members of this forum, the red/blue/purple boards, facebook, etc., can't afford their own airplanes.  I think using that against somebody is counterproductive and wholly hurtful to GA.  How many other members only have anything to add as a result of a friend's plane, a rental plane, or some other arrangement favorable to them?  Hell, I'd love to have cheap access to a plane.  Sure, mine's cheap, but cheaper is always better!

I don't understand why he would have come over here at all.
Same reason he stuck his nose in on the SZ.
Of course, I don't know what that reason is, but he feels a need to check up on others (in a closed forum) so that he can make sure they all post serious aviation issues.  But then again, it is ok for him to talk about Penises in an open forum.

Perhaps it's simpler than that:  Curiosity and interest if there was any content worth reading or participating in.  I really never participated in SZ, but enjoyed the read.  That's what brought me to read over here, too.

We need to encourage the left leaning members to come too.

What's the fun in that?
