Title: TWO YEARS After Virtually EVERYBODY Realized It...

Jeff Sessions Suggests he may be Through With Politics, Forever

Stop the presses.

ReCall the paper trucks....

Jeff Sessions believes he might not have a future in politics after his two years of non-stop ignorance as Attorney General.

The only cabinet secretary in the last 25 years, other than john kerry and hialry clinton, to be a top down, never ending fuck up, THINKS that the voters might be done with him.

Unless he's going to don a maxine waters costume, I think he's right.

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions hinted he does not plan on running for political office again Wednesday amid rumors he might challenge Democratic Alabama Sen. Doug Jones for his old Senate seat in 2020.

Career politicians are a cancer REGARDLESS of party. I have no use for any of them.

Let’s be realistic. Jeff Sessions is 71 years old. I think he is done with all work.  He was probably ready to retire before the president tapped him to AG.

Negative. When is the last time you saw a politician retire because they were of reasonable retirement age?  Power is EVERYTHING to these people. That’s why re-election is THE 1st and only job of politicians, even when they are old.

This is true.  Look at McCain.

Trump is 72.
Pelosi is 78.
Maxine Waters is 80
Feinstein is 85.

Not only should we have term limits, but mandatory retirement ages for politicians.  This royalty crap has to end.

You guys are right. There is no way a 71 year old man wants to relax and enjoy the last years of his life.

What was I thinking, you all know way more about Jeff Sessions than I do.

Well instead of being snarky, why don’t you answer my question?  Name a politician who has retired, say, in his late 60’s or early 70’s in order to enjoy retirement, severe health matters notwithstanding.

I don't know how much you know about Jeff Sessions.  I do know that I know very little about him personally.

My point was that you seemed to think that since he is 71, he is washed up and has no future.  I think that is a shaky assumption.  My brother is a 70 year old architect, and he is taking on more work today than he has in years.  He just bought a gaming laptop with an 18 inch monitor so he can go on vacations and still be able to crank out projects when everyone else is sleeping.  It's not as productive as his two side by side 32 inch monitors in his home office, but it let's him travel.

So your assumption and snarky answer is just as flawed as mine.

I've rarely seen a politician of retirement age (mid 60's to 70's) voluntarily give up his/her seat to "relax and spend more time with their family" unless they KNEW they were going to lose re-election.  In fact I can't think of a single one.

However, Session is not in the legislature, so I don't know where he'd go.

Paul Ryan has retired. How about Trey Gowdy?  How many other Representative decide not to run this year.

Rumor is Sessions will run against Jones in Alabama for his old senate seat in 2020.  If he did, he would win easily.

That’s completely different.  Those guys are no where near retirement age. They will be working for quite a while, and probably making a lot more money.

My retort was that Flynn was implying that at age 71 Sessions would not want to go after his old seat, but would prefer to retire. My premise is that a politician to retire at a “normal” retirement age is virtually unheard of, and if they can win, they will run, mostly so they can retain power indefinitely.

And if they DO lose an election, they become very highly paid lobbyists.  I know two personally that are now very wealthy due to LOSING an election.  Both, establishment Republicans.

Usually the older ones have a huge amount of seniority in Congress. With seniority comes power.  Power is a helluva drug.
