A senior economic adviser to former President Barack Obama is predicting unprecedented economic growth leading up to the 2020 election.
"We are about to see the best economic data we've seen in the history of this country," Jason Furman told participants in a virtual meeting last month.
A professor at Harvard University, Furman has spent the past several weeks advising Democratic leaders to prepare for what he calls a "partial rebound" that could "be very, very fast, because people go back to their original job, they get called back from furlough, you put the lights back on in your business."
"Given how many people were furloughed and how many businesses were closed, you can get a big jump out of that," he told Politico. "It will look like a V."
The economic downturn linked to coronavirus resembles the fallout from a natural disaster rather than a typical recession, he said. He said he believes warnings of another Great Depression are inaccurate and predicted that starting with the jobs report released in early July, "you could easily have 1 to 2 million jobs created a month in those four reports before November."
He added that third-quarter GDP released at the end of October "could be double-digit positive economic growth."
"So these will be the best jobs and growth numbers ever," Furman said.

We've started hanging out with close friends again, going to dinner (yeah, our governor has balls and opened the state towards the beginning of May), going on hikes and walks, etc.
EVERYONE we talk to thinks that there's far more to this crisis bull than meets the eye, and feel that it's been manipulated in nefarious ways. They're ALL MORE than over it, and ready to get on with living life like normal, even better than normal.
There's a lot of pent up demand for life, and when the dam finally bursts, people are going to be out in the economy enjoying the hell out of themselves!

"Herd Immunity" IS science. It is a phrase that veterinarians have been studying, using and working with forever.

Guess what? Yes, cases in our county are WAY up, and we opened three weeks ago. So, is the virus now spreading rampantly? Many doomsayers will nod yes. But, let's look at what else has happened in the last three weeks. Our county has opened many new drive through testing locations, and now anyone who wants tested may be tested. Doctors orders no longer needed.
So yes, cases are up, but I believe that is to be expected as a result of greatly increased testing and the fact that I believe a majority of the population has now been exposed to the virus, sheltering or no sheltering.

Cases are up due to more testing as you say, but if the people outside of Nursing Homes are getting it now, then the mortality rate will go way down. This is NOT a death sentence for the vast majority of people like the MEDIA and Democrats want you to think.

Nope. And common sense has nothing to do with intelligence, he is very smart, but he limits his news sources to mainstream media and between that and his wife’s liberalism he’s just fallen into an abyss.
Also he stayed in the big city absorbing urban culture and his wife is from the UK and while she is very sweet, she brings a heavy European style liberal/socialist flavor to their union. He’s drowned in it now.

I would think a combination of opening up a state and increased testing would certainly account for an increase in cases. As long as we're not completely stupid and use common sense it will also subside. Despite the increase in cases here in Georgia, deaths appear to be down.
What is hard to believe, well maybe not, is that the left somehow believes that they can make the virus go away, you know, like the common cold. 8)
