Discussing and debating the EC seemed reasonable, regardless of which side your opinion falls on.  Why some people have to behave so immaturely with threads like this is disappointing.

You don't want to rationally talk about something, fine.  But grow up a little.

You still wearing your shorts too tight?

Yes. BUT. On this issue he did very well!

Yes he did.  As my grandfather used to say....even a blind sow finds an acorn once in a while.

Obama was an arrogant, far left, radical activist, who used the Office of the Presidency to Fundamentally Transform the U.S. into a communist, banana republic. Trump doesn't have to be arrogant like Obama, but must persevere to reverse all that he did, and also create an environment for capitalist, private sector, economic growth.

Agreed, but there should be no wavering relative to the wants and wishes of the left.  The citizens of the United States gave full control of the country to Team R last night.   No more progressive light.  Capitalism and and the ideal of a smaller government need another shot at salvaging this great country.  The war was won...now as gracious winners Team R needs to heed the wish of those who put them in office last night.  This is not the time for white flags and group hugs.

Mitch McConnell looks brilliant where that is concerned.

I'm glad the Garland vote was withheld, but using McConnell and brilliant in the same sentence is a stretch....

I am writing in Nixon.

Compared to the lying, criminal oxygen-wasters running for office today, Nixon was a choirboy.  Progress indeed....

And my point is that Trump can't organize his way out of a wet paper bag.  He can't even make sure his name is on the ballot in Minnesota.  The way I'm reading it, there's a significant chance that he cannot meet the filing requirements by the deadline.

He says "Don't worry that I know nothing about X, Y, Z, hell the whole alphabet, I'll hire the best people."  Yet his best people seem totally incompetent.

So the hard-on for Trump continues.  I'll give you one thing Jeff, you are nothing if not consistent.  All of you hard work and distain will pay off nicely with another Clinton administration.  Gotta love the circular firing squad that is the Never Trump crowd.  Actively working against the only candidate that has a prayer of beating Hillary will never make sense to me.  What do you hope to accomplish by influencing others that Trump is an incompetent buffoon that should never hold the office of President?  Do you want the doormat to become President?

And yet we got Hillary (not that Bernie was any better, but at least he was honest and in the open about what he wanted to do) and Trump. Trump is parading himself as a Republican even though he's not. I don't believe for one second that Trump will reduce the size of the government anymore than Hillary will. Trump may slow the growth but that's it (and I'm not even convinced of that).

Agreed.... both candidates are turds.  However, any vote that helps elect Hillary is a vote for a rapid acceleration to socialism and substantial changes to the constitution through executive and judicial fiat.  We may end up at the same end with Trump, but at least it may take longer to get there.  There is no mystery what Hillary and her far left band of kooks want to accomplish.  Just like there was no mystery what Obama wanted, yet many seem genuinely surprised at the outcome after 8 years of his destruction.

Her greatest challenge will be demonizing the Republican House who will keep her from spending anything and from raising taxes.

That is the least of her challenges.  Obama had no problem running over team R, and the lying idiot won't have any trouble either.  Both parties want more government.  If there was a true smaller government opposition would we have a $20 Trillion debt?

Why do you think there was such a huge push in the primaries for anyone but establishment candidates?  People are tired of business as usual from both sides.

I get the biggest kick out of Trumpkins who say "Hillary is just out for herself, it's all me, me, me!  I can't vote for that, so I'm voting for TRUMP!"

It's hilarious how bad a lack of self-awareness that shows.

It's hilarious how Trump Haters can get so emotional, they lose all sense of reality and logic.

The level of lack of self-awareness among the Trump true-believers is staggering.  Just about every single accusation they hit Hillary with, Trump has done the same thing, or in many cases worse.  About the only one he hasn't done is compromise national security, and the only reason he hasn't done that is that nobody has been stupid enough to trust him with national security info

"In much cases worse....." It is your self awareness which is truly lacking my friend.... but then all this gnashing of teeth over Trump is really irrelevant if you truly believe in conservative or libertarian ideals.  There is only one choice on the ballot that will not support Hillary.  I admire the conviction of those supporting third party candidates like Johnson, but the fact of the matter is those protest votes will elect someone we know will finish the job of substantially changing/destroying the United States.

I realize places like this need to debate the issues for the next few months, but a simple choice about our country's future was defined when Trump won the nomination a few weeks back.  In my opinion, this is a very simple decision.  Vote for Trump, or elect Hillary.  Period.

You realize that everything you wrote there could just as easily be applied to Trump and his gang as to Hillary, right?

How so Jeff? I know you have a hardon for Trump, but attempting sleazeball equivalency with either of the Clintons is laughable.

Gary Johnson has summited some of the tallest peaks on every continent.  How's that for testosterone?  The only way the Donald gets to the top of even a modest hill is via helicopter, lol.

Sent from my iPhone . Squirrel!!

Completely irrelevant fact since Mr Johnson is not, and will not be a contender in this election.

The Donald is the GOP candidate for POTUS.  I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Don't worry, That discomfort will mask the nauseating and unpleasant fact that your head is up your ass

Pardon my being blunt, but that's a stupid question. If a voter doesn't think a candidate gives a shit about them and their views, they're generally not going to vote for them.

I'm sure it does sound stupid to you, and all the rest of you leftists who look to government for everything.  Let me give you a hint.... they don't give a shit about you....no matter what they say, you are irrelevant to a politician.  The only thing they care about is your vote and your money in the form of taxes and campaign contributions.  Period... end of story.

I don't want politicians and bureaucrats building up my self-esteem, or validating my views.  I want them to do the jobs we elected them to do, nothing more, nothing less. Ideologically, I want them doing far, far less for me (and everyone else) than they feel they need to do today. I want them out of my life, not hindering my liberty.

No doubt that is very hard for you to comprehend....but make no mistake...none of them care about you personally, or anyone else for that matter.  When they say anything to the contrary...they are lying.
