I think it's worse than that.  They disarm us so that when the FedGov STARTS shooting, we have nowhere to run.

As far fetched as it may seem, it sure seems like there are a lot of these events as we get close to election time. Yeah, a bit tin foil hatish, but...

If you want to really get conspiratorial, look at how many of these big shooting events have "active shooter training" within 5 miles of the site and within a week of the shooting.  Sandy Hook and San Bernadino both fall in this category, as do a couple of others IIRC. 

Practice for the big day?    :o
