Spin Zone / Re: Universal Income?

I don't think Universal Income is the answer either.  However, if we put a work requirement for the able bodied attached to welfare, food stamps, etc, I think that would be a start.  It would cut down on the fraud, and also help people to feel productive.  Not government "make work" jobs, but real jobs in the private sector.  It could be construction, maintenance, cleaning up, office work, whatever.

3% GDP growth rate should be doable.  After all our inflation rate, which I think is understated is at least 3% for many quarters/years.  I'd like to see at least 3.5% growth for a few years.  Economically, we've been going backwards in many ways, especially in wage growth.

Isn't that exactly what the opposition party usually does?

There is party opposition for sure, but only one party has the support of most of the media to create public outcry, and public sediment.  That's the difference.  What we are seeing with Trump is way over the line, and is more than just normal party opposition.

At least we know if Nancy Pelosi loses her politician gig, she could have a nice career haunting houses.   ;D

I believe Johnny Carson was a Liberal, though not vocal about his own political views.

He probably was, but as you say was not partisan on air.  Entertainers, for the most part were a lot classier back then, at least publicly.

Are all comedians today far left kooks?  What happened to people like Bob Hope, and Johnny Carson?  Instead we have the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, Sarah Silverman, Joy Behar, Louie CK, Griffin, and a plethora of other nut jobs that hate the U.S., but are happy to make money here.

Citizens are automatically registered to vote, unless they opt out. Versus what we have now, where no one is registered unless they opt in. Opt out vs. opt in.

OK, I understand now.  So if you are a documented, legal citizen, you can automatically vote when you are of age.  Hmmmmm.  I am OK with that.

It's not a conspiracy.  We're dooming ourselves and there is no second chance.  I wouldn't care if it was only going to take down the people not willing to make changes, but it takes the rest of us down with you.

Yeah, I have heard that before.  As a kid in the 70's I bought into what my school was selling me on the Earth cooling due to the "Greenhouse" effect, and the obliteration of the ozone layer.  Time magazine published the coming Ice Age on their cover.  Guess what?  Nothing happened.  Now I see where our own government agencies like NOAA, and NASA used falsified data, or actually went back and "modified" data to support big government solutions to man made climate change.  No thanks.

It seems Obama's inner circle is a little upset.  Awwww, poor babies.

Quote
]“Malicious idiocy derived from willful ignorance motivated by avarice,” Obama’s former senior advisor Dan Pfeiffer wrote, reacting to the news.

“Have been in two European cities today. News is all Paris. Vibe is mournful,” wrote Obama’s former speechwriter Cody Keenan. “Feels like U.S. giving up 75 years of global leadership.”
Keenan also wrote that Trump would be “cursed and loathed” by future generations because of his decision.

Obama’s former National Security advisor Susan Rice also indicated her disappointment.
“The cumulative effect of Trump policies, capped by his foolish, tragic Paris decision = abdication of America’s global leadership,” she wrote. “Shame!”

“Trump destroying ability of any US President, including himself, to garner long term international commitments on anything,” wrote Jesse Lee, a former White House director of rapid response. “Make US word meaningless.”

“Literally every other major government and political party in the world believes this except for the US and GOP – a staggering disconnect,” former National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes lamented on Twitter.

He described White House economic advisor Gary Cohn and H.R. McMaster “complicit” in the acceleration of “the destruction of our planet
.”

Not specific to ImagineAir but I have a textbook case for GA aircraft in business travel coming up.

Meetings with customers in PHX, TUS and ABQ on 6/12, 6/13 and 6/15, myself and our BD guy.

Meet in PHX and TUS with 2 customers on Monday, then another customer in PHX on Tuesday, last one is ABQ on Thursday.

Everyone originally wanted Monday, with a 182 or better that would have been possible - long day but no rental car, no hotels, no show up early and wait......

I may actually put together a full-on business case using this trip as an example - the opportunity cost, hotels and taxes, etc., far outweigh the cost even for the super gucci G500/SVT-GTN750 C-182RG at $202/hr - and that is not including the hassle factor.

I really need to get the policy changed or work for a company that gets it (or just wants to keep me happy).

'Gimp

I used to have to go to Groton, CT from the Philly area weekly for work.  My company gave me an apartment up there so I'd go up Monday morning, and come back Friday evening.  Due to having to drive through NYC area traffic, the drive was HELL on earth.  It was a minimum five and a half or six hour drive if there were no accidents along the route.  I could fly it in my Tiger in 1:20, or so depending on winds.  It was a no brainer, and I did fly it as much as practical.  I didn't get reimbursed because it was considering "commuting" in the deal I cut with the company, but they paid for my living expenses while there, so I couldn't complain.

Spin Zone / U.S. out of Paris Climate Agreement?

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Donald Trump is expected to withdraw the United States from a landmark global climate agreement, a White House official said Wednesday, though Trump and aides were looking for "caveats in the language" related to the exit and had not made a final decision.

Leaving the deal would fulfill a central campaign pledge, but would anger international allies who spent years in difficult negotiations that produced an accord to reduce carbon emissions.

I know this is largely symbolic as China, Russia, and I think India are not on board with this agreement.  However, I am glad Trump is fulfilling another campaign promise.  More, and more people are over the entire man made climate change hoax.  Even many leftists are giving up, and the ones that seem to be the most vehement supporters are the ones that would benefit fro more taxes, regulations, and "studies".

But the anti-Obama sentiment NEVER reached the levels we're seeing out of the left today toward Trump and anyone supporting him. The liberal left is a runaway train of hatred unlike anything I've ever seen in my life, and I saw the KKK burning crosses in the 1960s.

Obama used the White House for eight years of travel, partying, and campaigning for the Democrats, and got a free ride from the media.  I have never seen a President almost solely focused on the political, and social aspects of the job, and not the broader administration, and management of our country for the good of everyone.  That being said, I accepted that he was President, and never uttered, nor even thought of harm coming to him.

I'm a Democrat. I'd like voter ID for all in combination with an opt-out registration system.

What do you mean by "opt out registration system"?

They seem to be doing quite well.  They are headquartered at KLZU.  Did a tour at their maintenance facility last year with some of my summer camp kids.  I interviewed with them for a dispatchers slot years ago.  They had just hired some one, but did give me a call a couple of year later.  They like older experienced pilots to fly for them.

I am glad it is working out for them.  Anything that can use GA to be more useful is great IMHO.  I would imagine that some people's time is valuable enough to use their services.  I wonder what their hourly costs are including pilot wages.

You racist bastard!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been called worse.   ;D

I wonder why the Democrats/media/left/progressives are so vehemently against voter ID, yet it is OK to require it for EVERYTHING else?
