Just went to fuel up and there is NO GAS at my local Exxon station. Southeastern Washington state.
”Pumps closed due to supply shortage” sign on every pump.
I survived the 70s fuel craziness but have never seen this before.
It’s a weird feeling.

Get use to it. FJB has been selling our Strategic Oil Reserve to Europe. Oil companies have leases but can't get permits to drill.

Here in New England fuel oil is very popular for heat. On 9 Feb this year I paid $3.69/gallon for about 175 gallons. That lasted until yesterday bought another 175 gallons for $6.19/gallon. Our house is very well insulated. Talked with a friend who works for the oil company we get fuel from he says it will get worse and from what he hears supply is not going to be good next winter.

The Biden administration has canceled one of the most high-profile oil and gas lease opportunities pending before the Interior Department. The decision, which halts the potential to drill for oil in over 1 million acres in the Cook Inlet in Alaska, comes at a challenging political moment, when gas prices are hitting painful new highs.
In a statement shared first with CBS News, the Department of the Interior cited a "lack of industry interest in leasing in the area" for the decision to "not move forward" with the Cook Inlet lease sale. The department also halted two leases under consideration for the Gulf of Mexico region because of "conflicting court rulings that impacted work on these proposed lease sales."
Federal law requires the Department of the Interior to stick to a five-year leasing plan for auctioning offshore leases. The administration had until the end of the current five-year plan — set to expire at the end of next month — to complete these lease sales.

The will simply limit your purchase to $50. Once it hits that number, pump stops regardless of how much gas is dispensed. There's a shortage, don't you know.

There usually is a limit. Back during Obama’s reign of terror, I found most pumps shut off at $90-$100.
I have a 36 gallon tank in my F-150. Do the math. Like then, I’m now filling up when I only use 18-20 gallons. Madness.

Memorial Day weekend we are moving my mother-in-law from Wisconsin to Ohio. We are renting a 16 foot moving van to do it. I'm going to cry when I see how much it's going to be to fill that tank up when I return it. I'm hoping I don't have to fill up on the drive across. Illinois and Indiana toll service center prices are some of the worse prices around. I will get off an exit and drive a few miles out of my way if it saves me .05-.10 a gallon.
