I’m changing my thought process on this.
Given all the noise coming out of Michigan, including a new order prohibiting travel between two residences, I think Biden is going to pick the bat-shit crazy totalitarian Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
She may or may not be a radical socialist like some other candidates (I don’t know much about her), but she’s an authoritarian and tyrant, and I think that’s attractive to main stream democrat voters.

Harris trashed Biden during a debate. There's no love loss there.
Besides, California is a deep blue state, so Willy Brown's chew toy doesn't do anything for Biden vote wise.

Not having a convention in July is PERFECT cover. By the time they have it in a month later in August (unfortunately still scheduled for Milwaukee) Joe will likely be in more obvious failing capacity, making a floor move to formalize the decision that I’m convinced has already happened just a formality, and a coronation of the new candidate and her VP.
