When the wife complained that I was missing Mass way too much and it wasn't a good example for the kids, I took them all up to around 4000 feet on a sparking CAVU Sunday morning, and said "This is my Church."

That was the last time I heard about it.

The salient use of a glass of wine is probably:

1) being able to stop rushing around and take the time to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine.

2) being able to stop rushing around and enjoy the depressant nature of a glass of wine, that is, taking advantage of the glass wine as a relaxant.

So, I doubt it really matters if it's red wine or white wine.

But that's just my layman's opinion.

If that was true, it would seem to indicate a beer or a shot would be equally effective, but that does not seem to be the case.  There seems to be some property of grapes or wine that is different.  Possibly related to antioxidents.

There seems to be some believable data that a glass or two of wine daily lengthens lifespan and prevents heart disease.  Does this apply to white wine, or only to red wine?

1.  Obama pardons Hillary, in the manner that Ford pardoned Nixon.
2.  Hillary wins,  nominates Obama for the Supremes.
3.  The Senate caves.
4.  We are doomed.

Labels are themselves a problem.  It is too easy to stop thinking after one has formed a "position" based on sound bites and categorization.  In point of fact, labels and the tendency to stop thinking after applying them are probably the primary reason today's electorate makes the choices they do, while behind the scenes the people they put in office betray them and let them down, astronomically and devastatingly.

This is precisely the reason I haven't chosen a label for my Avatar on this forum.

So if you want to dominate the globe, you need bases all over the globe and that includes Europe.

And Japan.  And Korea.

It is his standard stump speech in Iowa, he comes off as smart and sincere.  There is another one that is 50 minutes in which he takes questions.  I listened while I was multi-tasking other stuff on the computer.  I posted the video length so folks could decide for themselves if it was worth their time to watch.

It is  much more in depth than what you would see in a 2-minute debate dog-and-pony show.

Do you have a link to this Democrat "Fairness Doctrine" proposal? I haven't heard anything about it and I live in the belly of the beast.

THIS PAPER    goes back to 2007, although there have been more recent proposals.

I deleted all the parts of your post that I agreed with.

The only part I disagreed with is your assertion that in WWII we were able to "get in and get out in short order".

True, we went in and won the war in relatively short order.  But to the best of my recollection, we maintained a military presence in the countries we defeated for decades.

Point of fact, we are still there.
