Hence why your college elites are all for big government spending.  Lots of grants to research meaningless bullshit and more grants to do studies, providing the data is what the government is looking for.

Bring back the "Golden Fleece Awards"?

Can't argue that all those projects seem stupid, but things have gone on like that for as long as I can remember, through all administrations.  The tough part is getting the word down through management that these things need to be eliminated.  Often times a dubious project has the support of a member of Congress, particularly back in the pork barrel days.

I am SO looking forward to Donald Trump ordering department heads to conduct efficiency studies and cut out waste and fraud int heir areas.
