Title: Tonight is the Worst Run Debate I've Ever Seen
Post by: nddons on October 28, 2015, 07:11:32 PM
Calling Trump a cartoon character. Badgering Marco Rubio about closing out a 401(k) and paying a penalty. Asking Carson about being on bed with a company for whom he gave a speech. Asking Bush and Christy about online sports gambling.

What the fuck?  Why does the RNC and GOP put up with this?

Yes. I don't support any of these republicans but wow CNBC tanked. There's a difference between pointed, relevant, and important questions and attacks.

It was truly an embarrassment. Jim Cramer (ironically) seemed the most normal and respectful.

CNBC almost made some of the Republican candidates seem "Presidential" which is a hard thing to do.

At least the candidates called out the "moderators" for their antics.

Agreed. There has got to be another way to do this.

I heard on the radio this AM (haven't tried to confirm the story) that Carson's team was talking to Trump's team and a few others about taking these debates out of the RNC's hands and picking their own moderators and ground rules. That sounds like a good plan to me.

What do you mean?  Everyone on the stage and every middle school class president is more presidential than our current Narcissist in Chief.

We sat down to watch the main players at 8P, only to find out CNBC placed obstacles in the way to streaming access. Seems like making your content difficult to view is a poor business plan going forward. Especially for content that has import concerns the future course of our country.

Hearing snippets today. Will probably watch the whole thing later on YouTube. But still leaves a poor impression on CNBC.

Yes, Obama is even less Presidential, but that doesn't make the GOP candidates "Presidential".  I don't think there is much gravitas there.  Lesser of two evils yet again.

They had to drive traffic to the TV to pay off the advertisers that paid a fortune for commercials last night.

I do think the candidates did a nice job of further outing the mainstream medias liberal/progressive bias.

I think the RNC is the root of the problem.  They are getting further and further from getting down to the busines of what Republicans (and all people of this country) really want and need.

I'm suspecting the same thing.

With Reince Priebus being from Wisconsin, we hear him from time to time on local talk radio. I distinctly recall a discussion he had last spring with a host where he said that they are taking charge of the debates, and will not allow the type of things that happened in the 2012 debates with things like the "War in Women" BS that became the story line of 2012.

And now it's déjà vu all over again.

So it was hard for me to take Priebus seriously when he Tweeted how upset he was with the CNBC panel after the debate.
