Spin Zone / Re: Presidential Election Results
« on: November 09, 2016, 06:34:23 AM »
Hopefully the last we've heard of the Clintons, time for them to shuffle off to the old folks home and wither away.
No.  I want to hear more about them.  I want to hear that they get convicted on a dozen different counts of fraud.  I want to hear about them getting hit with endangering and disclosing national security data.  I want to hear her screech "right wing conspiracy" one more time.  And I want Chelsea to refund the foundation for the costs of her wedding.

The need that overwhelms the young, far left to be the center of attention at any cost is to blame, not the election.
Those pathetic, liberal, snowflakes have no idea how great they had it until they just had to elect human sewage like Barack Obama, Governor Moonbeam and maybe Hilary Clinton.
Wait till the gravy train runs out of cash and they actually have to fend for themselves.
Now THAT will be stressful.

The people who get prosecuted for security violations knowingly compromise material that they knew to be classified.
Sorry but this is clearly and demonstrably false, intent is irrelevant in crimes involving mishandling of classified information.  Intent does not show up in the law/regulations governing mishandling of classified information, Comey made up that up out of whole cloth when he first let her off the hook.

The applicable statute deals with gross negligence, which was in fact proven, intent is not present in the mishandling law.  The entire and only point to having a law dealing with negligence is to be able to charge and punish for negligence which is unrelated to intent (intent is featured in other laws relating to treason, spying, etc.), but not negligence.  Comey did not say she was innocent, far from it he went on a 15 minute rant elaborating a litany of her errors, all he said was no reasonable prosecutor would bring charges - two totally and completely different things.

All this does is continue to serve as a direct reminder that there are two sets of rules, one applicable for we mere peons and the apparatchiks of power that do not support the Left (or fall out of favor for whatever reason), and another for the high muckity mucks.  The system is indeed rigged, if only someone were pointing that out.... oh wait

In only 8 years this administration has succeeded in politicizing, weaponizing and ruining nearly every institution of power in the US, the IRS, the DoD, State Department, DoJ, EPA, HUD/HHS, and now even the FBI - it is the most pathetic period of time in the history of our nation IMO.

Spin Zone / Re: Common Sense Gun Control
« on: November 06, 2016, 08:44:32 AM »
It seems to me that (a) one side wants to remove guns from people before they use them in crimes and (b) the other side wants to remove guns from people after they use them in crimes.  (a) is unconstitutional and (b) is too late.  We already have (b) and are slowly and steadily moving toward (a).  The problem is that a bloody schoolyard is a much more powerful image than hundreds of robberies that are prevented.
A bloody schoolyard gets better ratings on the news and plays the emotional card. However, a bloody schoolyard wouldn't happen if we had the proper security/police and/or armed staff/teachers to protect the children. Labeling schools as a "gun free zone" only makes it a target for criminals.

Still that schtick, eh? I don't know about you, but I don't vote to simply pick a winner. I vote for a person who I sincerely believe can lead our great country in a general direction of which I am comfortable. My vote is sacred. My vote is powerful. With it I can help effect change. With it I can send a message.

My message this election is to the two major parties: your candidates fucking suck, and they won't get my vote.

A principled vote is not a wasted vote. Period.

I'm reminded of the headstone with the epithet "He had the right-of-way."

What's not fair is that attitudes like yours will help get Hillary elected. Good work.  ::)

Really? How does that work? Because I "made" you "feel bad" by taking away your "safe space", you're going to vote for a criminal?

It's strange. You're completely happy to make idiotic, false, blanket statements about an entire group of people, but get all sick to your stomach when it is thrown back in your face. The difference is, I'm posting bullshit to make a point, but you're posting bullshit because you actually believe it.

Sorry, liberals are all a case of arrested emotional development, stuck in adolescence where "it's not fair!" is the mantra.

At what gain?

[edit: bold added to quote to clarify my question]

They believe the US got to be rich and powerful off the backs of other countries and because of that we must be cut down to size and made to suffer like third world countries do.  They are out to even things out, make things fair, bring America down to the level of others.

I believe the opposite should be true.  There are opportunities everywhere and if they are taken advantage of anyone or country can be like we are.

Never forget that Obama studied under Frank Marshall Davis, is a proponent of Cloward & Piven and an Alinskyite as well as friends with Bill Ayers.

I don't think they will. Regardless, the path to gun bans in the US would be markedly different than Australia's.
Have you not read the dissent in Heller?

"The majority’s conclusion is wrong for two independent reasons. The first reason is that set forth by Justice Stevens—namely, that the Second Amendment protects militia-related, not self-defense-related, interests. These two interests are sometimes intertwined. To assure 18th-century citizens that they could keep arms for militia purposes would necessarily have allowed them to keep arms that they could have used for self-defense as well. But self-defense alone, detached from any militia-related objective, is not the Amendment’s concern."

https://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/07-290.ZD1.html

Read that again, and tell me that Justices Breyer and Ginsburg would change their opinion, or Justices  Sotamayor, Kagan, and a new justice appointed by Hillary wouldn't agree with Souter and Stevens in this dissent.

To summarize:  FOUR USSC Justices did NOT see an individual right to keep and bear arms. FOUR. IT WILL TAKE ONLY ONE MORE, and another Second amendment case, to reverse Heller.

It is either insufficient or disingenuous to just say "I don't think they will."

Some people are claiming that the Government won't take away our guns.

Why do you believe that?

Are there any States in which possessing a standard capacity AR-15 magazine is now illegal?

Are there any States in which possessing a so-called "Assault Weapon" is now illegal?

Are there any firearms which are illegal to possess in California?

What will guarantee that States won't continue to erode Second Amendment rights?

Did you all notice how nobody calls them "the news" anymore?  They're "the media" now, a source of entertainment video like Netflix.

Without fair and impartial news organizations, there is nobody to call out the government and to hold them accountable.  Cronyism reigns, chaos ensues and the Republic is gone.

The left doesn't want facts.  Look how they've responded to the Podesta emails.  They just start talking about them being stolen by the Russians and how it is Trump's fault.

Same thing with the Project Veritas videos where we hear them bragging about disrupting Trump rallys.

...Trump, who may not even accept the results of the election ...

"At a private fund-raiser in Los Angeles for Democratic Sen. Jean Carnahan of Missouri, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton told the crowd that President Bush merely had been "selected" president, not elected, Newsweek reports in the current issue." (linky)

Cue the media histrionics about "not accepting the results of an election". Leftism is nothing if not a case study in psychological projection.
