After all, Flynn has yet to be charged with a crime. If there is evidence that he betrayed his country, it has yet to be presented. None of the many news stories about Flynn's contacts with Russians and Turks has accused him of being disloyal to his country. And yet a decorated general has already been tried and convicted in the press.

None of this would be happening without some very dirty business from the national security state. It's a two-pronged campaign. First there are the whispers. Anonymous officials describe in detail elements of an ongoing investigation: intercepts of conversations between Russian officials about how they could influence Flynn during the transition; monitored phone calls about how Flynn had lied about his conversations with the Russian ambassador to his colleagues; how Flynn failed to disclose his payment from the Russian propaganda network on his official forms. This prong of the campaign is at least factual, but the facts don't speak for themselves.

The second and more insidious element here is the innuendo. Yates never says Flynn was a spy for Russia. But her public remarks to Congress and the media appear designed to leave that impression. As she told Lizza, Flynn was "compromised by the Russians." This sounds far more sinister than Flynn's explanation when he left his post in February. Back then he said he had forgotten elements of his discussion with the Russian ambassador that covered a wide range of issues.

Essentially we are already doing it.

That's a big part of the problem.

President Trump sent his first full budget proposal to Congress this week. It's got some interesting bits in there and some I don't agree with. Notable is the nearly 30% decrease in the Department of State budget which I disagree with,

 So we should keep sending tax payer's money to other countries as "foreign aid"?

 How about keeping that money here and spending on our own aid?

 I for one am tired of giving countries that hate us money in hopes of winning favor with them.   

Not necessarily. The Republicans were sent to the majorities in the House and Senate and given the White House to repeal Obamacare, build a wall and get tax reform through. So far none of that has happened or even come close. There's still time, but the mid-terms will be here soon. If this doesn't happen then I could see the Republicans losing at least one chamber of Congress. The Democrats still have an uphill battle for the Senate but it's not completely out of play for them yet.

The budget that the President sent to Congress this week looks pretty good from what I've seen so far and I've been impressed by a lot of Mick Mulvaney's answers to the press and congressmen/women. The President's budget probably deserves its own thread, though.

 The people in the flyover country are paying attention.   They watch the fake news, they watch as the progressives are becoming even more unhinged and they are watching as the media and progressives do everything they possibly can to bring down this administration.

 These people aren't idiots.  After watching this they will not walk in the voting booth and hand power to Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi.   They WILL vote out republicans who have reneged on their promises and replace them with new blood.  Let's hope it starts with Paul Ryan.

As far as anyone knows, Trump never grabbed anyone.

 But the MSM had people believing he was a serial rapist while their preferred candidate HRC had a husband that actually was.

 

I wonder if the results would've been different had 70% of the voting not been done early given the candidate assaulted the reporter? Otherwise, these special elections are hardly referendums or repudiations of Trump. The Democrats love to use that line as if it makes a difference. I think there's a lot that could make the Republicans lose either or both houses in the mid-terms but a special election doesn't count as a repudiation of Trump.

This is now the third election in which the MSM was proclaiming this election would signal the repudiation of Trump and show that Americans wanted Trump gone.

 Just like their polling and fake news during the presidential election, the MSM still doesn't get it.

And yet another election that was suppose to represent a repudiation of Trump has been won by a republican.

The dems still can't figure out why they are losing elections.

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, based out of Richmond, VA, blocked Trump's revised travel ban on the grounds that it violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. There's a number of issues with their ruling and this will likely end up at the Supreme Court. In part, the Chief Judge essentially said that Trump's justification that these countries have a terrorism problem wasn't good enough:

Activist judges are going out of their way to ensure that Trump's power is limited. Never mind that when Obama did something similar it was just fine.

 It was Obama that identified those 6 countries as threats.

 It's purely amazing the over reach of these judges, especially in a matter that is in law and very clearly defined.
