No separation of church and state, governments informed by Isamic tradition and law, radical militants creating havoc on the world stage, Islamic communities not even harmonious within themselves, sects fighting, Muslim countries rendered uninhabitable by violence that creates refugees.

A progressive's dream apparently.

I know you know this Becky, (for the edification of the lib/progressives) but there is no "separation of church, and state" in the U.S. Constitution.  Only a guarantee of no state sponsored religion, and the freedom to worship as you choose.  I am not a very religious person, so not advocating more (or less) religious references in government.  I have no problem with references to God, nor having Nativity scenes, or the Menorah in the town square.  However, if the Muslims want to display more symbols on public property, or for religious holidays, I have no problem with that, nor from any other religious sect.  The question remains however, is Islam just a religion, or a GOVERNING belief system, or both?

Ugh. You hit a hot button for me. In what world does "Congress shall make no law.." equate to the leftist's need to order a football coach against taking a knee and praying with their players after a game?

Stan.  I wasn't saying that at all.  Maybe I wasn't clear.  I have no problem with public displays of religion in the public venue.

I think you misread Anthony's post, or missed his point entirelly.

Islam is a theocratic system of government and law and has shown itself to be simply incompatible with Western democracy and Western culture.

Unless and until Islam undergoes a reformation similar to that which Christendom endured some 400 years ago the schism between Islam and essentially the rest of the world will not only continue it will widen - Islam is at war with the rest of the world and they are using every possible tactic (immigration and population growth being the most widespread and successful) unfortunately it seems only they know it.

No, I know you don't, and I didn't mean to infer that you did. I wasn't clear either.  I was just exclaiming about the "Freedom FROM Religion" types who make such an unreasonable stretch.  In other words, I have no patience for people who fight to have all evidence of religion erased from the public square.

I hope I cleared it up below. My post was in no way a criticism of Anthony. It was intended to be supportive of his position.

No worries.  Got it!   :)

Agree, btw.

I do understand, and agree that a major faction of Islam is at war with the rest of the world.  I also have a suspicion that it is tolerated by the mainstream Muslims, if not outright supported.  My question is, why do Progressives (sometimes called "Liberals") in Europe, and the U.S. encourage the legal, and illegal immigration of un-vetted Muslims, often from areas, and countries of known terrorism?  What benefit do they see for the citizens of the accepting countries?  Is it just a guilt thing, or misguided attempt at altruism?  It baffles the rational mind.  (not that I am one of those) :)

I think they are for those things  because republicans are against them.  If trump announced that he was going to lift all restrictions on Muslim refugees, liberals would be screaming bloody murder.

What I don't understand are women liberals that are silent on the treatment of Muslim women and get so outraged at the idea of fighting radical islam.

And the ironic thing is, for all the leftists whining about Trump's money and income inequality, rich people like Trump would feel it the least were he to do so.  Trump can afford to live in armored compounds and travel with professional armed security; most people can't.  Trump's job isn't about to be taken by an illegal willing to work sweatshop conditions for half the pay without complaining.

So which party is it that is looking out for the little guy?

Because. Abortion. Full stop.

Can you imagine if feminists railed against Muslim rape of little boys and little girls, 9 year old Muslim brides, Muslim sex slaves, Muslim genital mutilation, and Muslim assault and Muslim "honor" murders against women with just half of the outrage and marches that they have against this alleged "rape culture" that is supposed to exist in "white America's" colleges?

See Duke University.

Say what you will about Obama, but he accomplished exactly what he said he was going to do, in 2008.

Yes he did.  His attempted dismantling of the elements of the U.S. that helped to make us a place where many want to come was very successful.

Healthcare
Energy (destruction of coal, and EPA over reach)  Crony capitalism (Solyndra, etc)
Deficit spending, and more DEBT (Bush did this too, but not nearly to the same extent)
Open borders, and the promotion of illegal aliens, and refugees from dubious countries to enter
Continuing of failed military policy worldwide
Benghazi
Fast and Furious
Apology Tour
Tax, and energy policy that contributed to a lackluster economy (jobless, very low growth)

I could go on and on.  He succeeded in making Frank Marshall Davis proud.
