Title: Haliburton Weather machine
Post by: PaulS on December 27, 2017, 05:56:42 PM
Apparently Dick Cheney gave Trump the keys to the Haliburton Weather machine, because it is cold, real cold outside.   Pure genius I tell you, and, it makes pulling out of the Paris accord genius.   That Trump, always winning.

I’m in Banff for vacation and some skiing.  It was -27 when we got to the slopes yesterday.  I didn’t know the thermometer went that low.

I think that is the coldest weather I have ever experienced, or have any desire to experience.

OK, I will ski in almost anything but that's just beyond cold. I was in ID skiing one year and I went in at -3 at the top of the run. A guy came in a few minutes after me, and his right boot was completely shattered. He said it was so cold, the boot just cracked at the clasp, and then self-destructed. We started drinking.

To be fair on global temps - we won't know any real 'climate' changes until there is 10 or so years of honest, reliable recordings taken.

10 years data gives you nothing regarding climate, except for a little seasonal variability.  Even a hundred years doesn't portend long term shifts, unless the change is dramatic, and even then, the next 100 years could go the other way.

Until we have the knowledge of all variables and their contributions, and the technical ability to translate all those changing variables, we will only be guessing.  And even then, doing anything positive about it without screwing up something else will be almost as big a gamble as doing nothing.

Yet over a few decades of MANIPULATED data the Progressives want to stop the use of Fossil fuels which the world depends upon, or at the very least tax its use so much that it is curtailed.  When gasoline prices went through the roof under Obama, he said that it was a good thing, but just happened a little more quickly than he thought.  Meanwhile, the poor couldn't afford to put gas in their car to go to work.  Nice huh?
