I vehemently dislike the tax cut because it is regressive and adds 1.5 trillion to the deficit according to the GAO.

Take a walk down to the Economics Dept and talk to a non Progressive economist.  Also check the record Federal Income Tax REVENUE after the tax cuts.  Due to a GROWING economy, more Tax REVENUE is being generated at the lower Tax Rates.  The pie is getting larger, and therefore, so is the government's pieces they take.

Progressives love higher tax RATES as they think this is a way to get government more money.  It often acts as a way to slow the economy which can result in less tax REVENUE.  Focus on tax revenue, not tax rates.

The Feds, and many states have a SPENDING PROBLEM, not a Revenue problem.

I believe Woodward, sorry.  Guy's got two Pulitzers, he's not going to sully a reputation that long in the building by publishing BS under his own name for short term gain.  Heck, in the phone call he recorded the Short Fingered Vulgarian said himself that Woodward would be fair.

He wants CASH, air time, and recognition for his ego to be stroked.  Therefore he will publish just about anything to get both.

It's the desperation ratcheting up.  Losing power has them mouth foaming and totally irrational.

The full scale violence is coming.  Look for the massive meltdown on election night to kick it off.

You will see a full scale meltdown, with calls for a violent uprising when the Dems lose the midterms.

Well I guess we need a definition for "great".  I personally think America has always been great, however, the Left has been overly critical of the U.S. mostly since the 1960's, maybe due to our involvement in Vietnam.  It became chic to put America down for these people.  So, I think Trump noticed that, and used it to his advantage.

Maybe America has always been great, but our self image promoted by the Left, and the Media (same thing mostly) has not.

I appreciate this exchange. It's a good reminder that some of us here are real people. And a few of you have even met to confirm the same!

Well, the invitation is open for those who ever get down to Florida. I'm in West Central, Tampa area. Message me here and we'll get together, and I'm happy to host.

We can get caught up in politics, and have to remember even if we disagree, we are still people with a similar interest, and good folks.  Thanks for the offer!

Hypothesis: what if they aren't left leaning but they delete rightist comments because the left are crybabies and report them more but they don't delete leftist comments because people on the right aren't about censorship and so don't report the comments. This assumes they aren't usually reading comments themselves but rely on reports to even know they are there.

If this is true then maybe we can generalize and hope it means that there is far more conservative/libertarian thought out there than we see in the world in general.

I think this is part of the issue.  Libs tend to be big cry babies, and whine a lot more, so the squeaky wheels get the grease.

She’s still going to beat her Republican rival.

So what?  So would Hitler.

I had the biggest crush on Admiral Nelson in"Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea". I was 8 years old. Go figure. You'd think I would have liked Captain Crane, not the old man. Crane was okay, but I adored the Admiral.

I met Richard Basehart (Admiral Nelson) in 1980 when I was in college.  He was a fine actor, and in a large number of movies, plays, etc prior to Voyage.

The press has hanged from the Fourth Estate to the Fifth Column a long time ago. The big difference now is that they no longer even try to hide it.

Very true, and they are so embolden, they don't try to hide it.  Nor do they try to hide their agenda, or that they fabricate stories to advance that agenda.  I watched CNN back in the early 90's to mid 90's also.  They were pretty much it, and had a good world network.  It is a joke now.

The Media today is more in the business of making a narrative FIT their Progressive agenda.  They are Leftist propagandists, with a few exceptions.  The large bulk of the media are there to mold opinions to what THEY believe, not disseminate facts, or news.  Even Cronkite admitted that, but he was very good at convincingly, misleading people.

Trump continues to amaze me. I voted for him feeling like a Hail Mary pass, a last ditch desperate attempt to turn the country around and with a lot of doubt he would actually do any of the things he promised. I actually disliked him and personally, he is far from someone I'd want to befriend.  But never in my wildest dreams did I think so much would get done so quickly and nearly all of it good for the country and for me personally. ISIS is gone, Kim elnutso blinked, the EU blinked, China is beginning to listen up, unemployment is way down, taxes, oh my God, our 2018 taxes are going to be thousands less because of Trump. Pennies to Pelosi I know but FUCK YOU BITCH and that's all I have to say about that.

What else, oh yeah, environmental regulations being rolled back, other regulations and on and on. Lovin' it.

Pretty much my thoughts also.  I met the man, and his son Eric in 2002 and they both were nice to a nobody covered in belly grease from a Grumman Tiger.

NATO is like the femi-nazis and free birth control. They think they are entitled to our support, our military protection and our money, while doing squat to help themselves.

As is the United Nations.  The world's welfare queens.  Let's give them all Obama phones, and be done with it.
