You might have it backwards. Technological innovation is a result, not a cause, of capital investment and economic growth.

Correct. I don't think anybody here will argue that point. I think the point trying to be made instead was that under Obama the unemployment rate was factoring in only certain elements which made the unemployment rate look lower than it really was.

We can argue that the same is true under Trump, but the BIG DIFFERENCE (pay attention Michael) is that NOW the media decides to broadcast it, and they didn't under Obama.

But that's the crux of the issue.  The 7/11 robber can get by a statute of limitations by not robbing for however many years.  An illegal alien can't no matter how above board they are.  That's the sticking point you all seem to have.  Like I said, so long as there is some sort of stiff penalty my hope is the illegals would prefer to be legals.  On the other hand if they want it that much why don't we make it work in our favor?

Well, they are continually breaking the law by being here.  If they left and didn't come back, eventually they would be in the clear because they wouldn't be breaking the law any more.     Think of an illegal immigrant as a guy who continually robs 7/11s and tries to claim the statute of limitations protects him because he committed his first robbery ten years ago.  Doesn't make sense, does it?

I shut off FoxNews in my home, not worth the effort anymore.  They are tilting more and more left.

 Hannity is next to go, and that will be soon.   Tucker Carlson will eventually get axed in another faux scandal.

I've heard this as well. If it does happen, it'll be a great example of the free market at work (conversely, if advertisers start pulling out of Fox News, realizing they can just advertise on CNN or MSNBC instead of all 3, that'll also be an example of the free market at work). There's a huge demand for conservative media as we've seen with talk radio. It took years before Fox News came along, but they've dominated the ratings ever since. If a new network sets up, the audience who watches the current Fox News will migrate to the new network.

Free markets work.
