Title: Video capture of a meteor
Post by: Jim Logajan on October 30, 2021, 07:45:50 PM
First time I’ve ever seen one of our wildlife/security camera capture a meteor. In commemoration of the event I converted the moments of the capture first to MPEG and then to a GIF and reduced the pixel size considerably. The camera is facing west.

In the past I’ve thought of mounting one  of my older unused video cameras and point it more directly upward. Been too lazy to consider where to mount it, what direction would be best, and then how to route the power cable. May now give it some more consideration.

Incredible.  I keep waiting for one big enough to wipe out almost all life on the planet… again.

The democrats want to beat that goal.

Could be an alien scout ship on recon in preparation for liberation of the planet from our current masters. Fingers crossed.

Honestly that’s a cool catch. Looks like it streaked then that flash was it breaking up midair? I’ve only ever seen streaks and certainly never caught any on camera.

I took a closer look at the original video and I think it may have passed through a cloud, thus producing a flare. But a breakup is possible too. Figures the streak would be near the edge of the field of view.

A smaller one centered on a 64 square mile area next to Virginia and Maryland would be a nice start.

Yep!  Except for my relatives there I’m good with that.

I found a picture yesterday of my parents in D.C. in 1954. Mom worked for the feds. My dad lured her away and they ended up making me.
