Quote
This election is unlike any other in our nation’s history. Like many other voters, I have struggled to determine the right course of action in this general election.
In Cleveland, I urged voters, “please, don’t stay home in November. Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket whom you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.”
After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.

I don't suppose that had anything to do with Priebus saying that if he doesn't, he will never get another opportunity to run.

I was a Cruz supporter because I thought he was different.  He is just another scumbag politician.

It seems to have more to do with Mike Lee having been added to the SCOTUS list by Trump

If only the GOP chairman was as tough on the enemy as he is on Ted Cruz and anyone else who stands on integrity instead of politics. But the chairman learned that from Obama.

Republican Party is lead by a Democrat, not a shock that the Chairman is emulating the Democrats.

I'm sure it did.  Mr. Cruz likes the limelight and attention.  This was one way to restart his political career.  So, a question to all the Donald supporters, is Mr. Cruz indeed "lying Ted"?  Why should anyone support Mr. Cruz in the future?

Good question.  I'm no longer a Cruz supporter, nor a supporter of any of the Republican leadership.  I don't know what the heck I am anymore.  Constitutionalist I guess.  I am voting against Hillary pretty much solely to maintain our Second Amendment rights, but who knows, the Donald could negotiate them away also for something he wants more, but at least we have a chance he won't.  Hillary will most certainly pack the court with far left, progressives, and then kiss our 2A rights good bye.

Poor lonesome John.  Got his feeling hurt and reneges on the promise he tried to force on Trump.

A promise Trump directly repudiated himself.

Why should Kasich be held to a pledge that the beneficiary repudiated?

What does one have to do with the other.  Kasich agreed to the pledge.  Trump did not.

The pledge should never have been proposed.
At least Trump answered it honestly.  Apparently, Kasich lied.  And Cruz tried to weasel out of it, but was the political consequences were too high.

Trump signed the pledge then repudiated it.  Why should others be required to keep to the pledge to support that candidate when that candidate repudiated it?

Trump accepted, then repudiated the pledge.  As soon as he did that, he has no right to expect anyone to honor such pledge.

Unless the others repudiated the pledge, he has every right to expect them to honor it.  Of course though, that would require that these politicians had any honor in the first place.

So, if you agree with someone that you'll sell them your car for $5,000, and the buyer then says "I'm not paying you!" Then you're still obligated to give him your car?

When one side repudiates a contract, other parties are absolved from any obligation they have to the repudiating party.

It wasn't a quid quo pro contract.  It was a pledge to perform.  Nowhere did anyone pledge to support the nominee as long as everyone else agrees to do so too.
Sorry, but you are grasping at smoke.

If someone accused my Old man of murder I'd not endorse no matter what pledge I'd signed.  My Old Man fought in WWII so these guys could say whatever they wanted.  A pity Cruz didn't stick to his principles.  To be honest, I think this will hurt him a lot more in the long term than staying the course.  He had damn good reason.
