I don’t want to be a Charlie Brown with Lucy holding the football, but I’m getting a decisive feeling that this red wave will happen.
My belief stems in part by how desperate the democrats are getting in their ads.
Exhibit A: GOP governor challenger Tim Michels is running against incumbent dem governor Tony Evers.
Michels and his brothers runs their family’s pipeline construction company, Michels Corp. Tim Michels is also a former U.S. Army Ranger, 12 years of active duty, Major, including being commander of The Old Guard, responsible for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
His opponent, Gov. Tony Evers, is running ads itemizing several sexual harassment claims at Michels Corp, of course implying that Tim
Michels was part of ownership covering them up.
Want to know how many employees Michels Corp has? 8,000! Eight fucking thousand employees. And these desperate leftists find a few cases that can happen at any large company on any given day.
For. Fucks. Sake.
And of course that gets picked up by local media, who have to do their own “investigations.”
The left and their Fifth Column media needs to be fucking destroyed.

So I dislike watching Turley because I have PTSD from watching him in 2020 (Lucy and the football, Stan) but he makes a great point here I will go ahead and spoil it so you all don’t have to actually watch this.
The left is saying our “democracy” is in danger if there is a red wave, because Trump is Hitler. People who vote Republican in the midterms are just like those who voted for Hitler who then went on to destroy democracy in Germany and they voted for him because of high prices and a bad economy so there ya go! If you vote red because of inflation you’re literally voting for fascist dictatorship and the end of democracy!
These idiots apparently don’t know enough history to know that after improving the German economy, Hitler went on to declare himself dictator, murder millions of his own citizens, invade adjoining countries and starting the biggest war mankind has known. Trump on the other hand, played peacekeeper, avoided war (in contrast to the Democrats) and hasn’t sent anyone to gas chambers. Besides, Trump isn’t even on the ballot! These people are obsessed with him. They can’t stop talking about him.
So Turley says what they mean by “democracy” is wokeism. There is no democracy outside of their far left woke sphere. They are accurately fearing the end of their woke power and they are trying to scare voters by claiming that if you don’t vote for them, you are against democracy.

He’s not bad, he is an optimistic conservative commentator who I listened to a lot just before and after the 2020 election. He really pushed the idea that the election would be successfully challenged, and when it ultimately wasn’t I felt led on and disillusioned but in his defense, it wasn’t his fault, it was the Dems that fucked us over, not him. But now I feel gun shy about his optimism. Doesn’t make sense because Styx is just as optimistic and I have no problem listening to him. But I wasn’t listening to Styx back then so don’t know if he also failed to predict what ultimately happened. If Styx is all wrong about the midterms I’m going to have a problem with him too.
But with Turley it’s probably the emotional association with that horrific month after the election that has me not enjoying him anymore. Like Clockwork Orange conditioning.

I was one of the few boys who had a car. It was early May and graduation was coming up fast. My ticket to the service was already punched and I was seriously gliding toward the runway.
Maggie was disadvantaged and her disability was not elegant, or pretty. She was heavy, with mismatched facial features from her never ending treatments and operations. Her mother tried her best but her dress looked like it was rescued from a dumpster and she never complained at all.
Her dad helped me stow her chair and showed me how to properly reassemble it. We even posed for pictures. My bosses sister helped me pick out a courage and I decided we would walk in like we owned the joint and this happened all the time.
Maggie was petrified about being hazed by the cool kids. I made a fist each time she shared her fears.
When I walked in pushing her specialized chair the overall noise level dropped considerably and one of the retarded asshole jocks started to say something really cutting to ruin Maggie’s night.
His girlfriend slapped his arm so hard eveyone heard it and her posse just glared him into silence.
One of the wealthy girls with big boobs grabbed the chair away from me and took her off to the Ladies Lounge (nice venues called the ladies room a lounge in those days) and when they returned she had fixed up Maggie’s hair and applied just touch of makeup and lipstick.
That kind of broke the ice and we figured out how I could maneuver her wheelchair enough to simulate dancing.
She died about six years later, I heard. There was never going to be a happy ending for her, but I looked her up a year later when I was home on leave, and she cried telling me how much going to the prom meant to her.
So fuck the jocks, the assholes and the cruel kids. My gang of friends did our part against bullying.
I told the woman who became my wife all about the prom and Maggie on our first date. I suspect that sealed the deal, right there. Poor woman heard it all over and over from my old friends when we were back for the 25th reunion, which was my first and only.
We were so young….

And other parts. The cast covered her back, but had a cross piece across her chest around armpit height, and then across her navel area. Back then they were the full plaster jobs - no fiberglass. She was so uncomfortable but I think enjoyed getting out.
Vehicle was my parents Chrysler Town and Country station wagon.

You mistake me for a good guy like N7. Maybe you missed it above when I said she was a hot Italian girl. I dated her for about 6 months so both before and after her surgery. Took her to see Elton John with Kiki Dee (her choice) and Foghat (my choice) before her surgery.

About 10 years ago my wife had carpel tunnel surgery on both hands at the same time. Now that was interesting caregiving.

That’s the way my husband is! He is so attentive and protective of me. Always has been. Dr. Laura used to say a man who truly loves you will crawl through broken glass for you. That’s my husband. But I would say the woman has to be worth crawling through broken glass for. Which I’m sure both of us are. ;D

I posted a video somewhere that talked about this. Men are MORE compassionate than women, but today’s society thinks the opposite. Women are compassionate about babies and puppies, but men will dive into a river risking their own lives to save a drowning stranger. They’re hardwired that way. Women aren’t. Biologically, women are hardwired to care for babies. It’s the men who care for the group at large.
