Well..

Well..
Rubio and some politician we have never heard of.
Everyone keeps predicting that one of the other potential candidates will be chosen as VP, but in my memory, most of the time the nominees find someone we would have never thought of, like Quayle or Palin.

Kill me now.

Becoming quite apparent that Rubio is now Fox's choice.

Seems like the fix is in.

Hearing this morning that the Cruz campaign put out the Carson is dropping out message to all 1500 caucus precincts during the caucus. If something like 4 Carson folks changed their vote to Cruz because of this it could account for his win in Iowa. I want to like Cruz but if you combine this possibility with the mailing labeled "Official Public Record" trying to shame people into voting it makes me wonder.
I don't really like Rubio because of his being part of the Gang of Eight so he could be part of "The Inner Circle" after being elected as a Tea Party Conservative.
-
I don't trust Trump or Rubio. I don't know if I trust Cruz. However, NO Hillary or Bernie.
-
Rubio/X. Cruz can't win as long as he keeps turning on his TV evangelist shtick. I'm a Christian and find his act tiresome and loathsome. I can't imagine anyone but the ever shrinking evangelical folks voting for him. Now, if he quits with the shtick, it may be a different story altogether.

What do you think of this Rubio ad (played in the first minute below)

While the above referenced ad is surely explaining his religious views I don't see him coming across as a Jim Baker wannabe. Then again, my view may be shaped by my prejudices. Watch Cruz and wait for the head tilt. In poker we call that a "tell". With Cruz, it's a tell that he's fixin' to turn on the shtick.

One could only imagine the theatrics a President Cruz would try to use in a real crisis.
You're right, the more you see of him, the less there is too like.

Again, I don't object to the ad because of his beliefs - which seem to be pretty mainstream evangelical, although he's Catholic.
It's that given a handful of seconds to tell me why I should vote for him, this is what he chooses to showcase.
Or it's just bold-faced pandering to get votes.
Either way it's a turn-off for me, though between Cruz, Trump and Rubio I'd still likely lean towards Rubio.
I think.

It is really appropriate to judge a candidate by one type of Ad?
any candidate needs to address a variety of potential voters. It is completely unreasonable to expect a candidate to express the totality of the message in a single Ad.

I totally agree. I may be a single issue voter when it comes to the 2A, but beyond that no one is capable of 100% purity for my taste. Every candidate has their faults - every one. There are some I can live with, and when it comes to Cruz and Rubio, I can live with every fault that I have seen in them, including the Gang of Eight deal. Rubio admitted that was wrong. He didn't dance around it, he said he was wrong, and that nothing can happen until the borders are secure.
On the flip side, has anyone asked Trump why he supported the assault weapons ban, and why he has changed his opinion?
I didn't think so.

The time has come to narrow the field and stop the circular firing squad.

No.
Which is kind of implied by my follow-up:
"Either way it's a turn-off for me, though between Cruz, Trump and Rubio I'd still likely lean towards Rubio."

Interesting:
In a recent Minnesota Poll, Rubio clobbered Hillary Clinton by eight points among young voters. In Minnesota! So I think the difficulty Hillary faces in a matchup with Rubio is not just hypothetical.

Nah, Trump/Bernie running an Independent ticket after both lose the R/D nominations due to cheating by both parties.
