Title: About That FBI ‘Source’
Post by: Lucifer on May 12, 2018, 06:35:54 AM
IMO the President needs to declassify everything in this scandal and let the American people see it.  It's time to expose these rats for what they really are, and it's time to rebuild the DoJ and the FBI.

And when it's all said and done, we will see all of this leads right to the desk of BHO.

The Department of Justice lost its latest battle with Congress Thursday when it agreed to brief House Intelligence Committee members about a top-secret intelligence source that was part of the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign. Even without official confirmation of that source’s name, the news so far holds some stunning implications.

Among them is that the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation outright hid critical information from a congressional investigation. In a Thursday press conference, Speaker Paul Ryan bluntly noted that Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes’s request for details on this secret source was “wholly appropriate,” “completely within the scope” of the committee’s long-running FBI investigation, and “something that probably should have been answered a while ago.” Translation: The department knew full well it should have turned this material over to congressional investigators last year, but instead deliberately concealed it.

House investigators nonetheless sniffed out a name, and Mr. Nunes in recent weeks issued a letter and a subpoena demanding more details. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s response was to double down—accusing the House of “extortion” and delivering a speech in which he claimed that “declining to open the FBI’s files to review” is a constitutional “duty.” Justice asked the White House to back its stonewall. And it even began spinning that daddy of all superspook arguments—that revealing any detail about this particular asset could result in “loss of human lives.”

This is desperation, and it strongly suggests that whatever is in these files is going to prove very uncomfortable to the FBI.

Now that revelations have come to light that at worst have the Federal Bureau of Investigation placing a spy within the ranks of the Trump 2016 campaign, and at best have the FBI hiding evidence from congressional oversight it is clear that the Department of Justice, and specifically the FBI, even now have top brass making decisions that must be outed, removed, and if necessary—charged.

I admit you may not have heard anything about these revelations because, aside from the dedicated work of Kimberly Strassel at the Wall Street Journal, few outlets have dedicated almost any coverage to the matter.

But pause just a second on what my opening sentence claims.

There is an increasingly likely scenario being sniffed out by heads of congressional oversight committees that adds up to the previously most trusted bureau of law enforcement on American soil having actually planted a “source” on the inside of a campaign for President with the express purpose of entrapping officials into admission of some sort of corrupt collusion with foreign powers.

I believe some folks have names Stefan Halper as the spy in the campaign.  Paid some $285,000 for his troubles.  I suppose the Liberals and Progressives have no problem with this.

Had the FBI planted a spy in the BHO campaign during the final months of GWB, the cries and screams for a Special Counsel and resignations from the democrats would have been deafening.

Notice how this story is being ignored by the MSM?

I don't know about anyone else but the FBI has never been one of, or even remotely 'most trusted' LEOs in the country, or the world. They've been playing fast and loose with politics since J Edgar.

Frankly, if I were prez, I would disband the FBI and start over. In fact, I would restructure the entire federal LEO system. Not sure how, but it would look very different than it does now. And - they would be specifically excluded by law from investigating any federal elected official. There would be a special external group that would investigate elected and appointed people in govt, and it would be run directly by the states, or governors.

Nice sarcastic summary of the media's delivery of this story:

"Four things to understand about SPYGATE: 1) There was no spy in the Trump campaign. 2) The spying that did NOT happen was totally justified. 3) It would be bad for national security to identify the spy who doesn't exist. 4) His name is Stefan. #SPYGATE
