He's guilty as hell and knows it. He's trying to get out and salvage his retirement.
The sad truth is nothing will happen to him and he heads off into retirement with his gov pension, just like Lois Lerner.
What the FBI has done, and is doing in conjunction with the DoJ is truly sickening and shows just how weaponized BHO turned the various government agencies.

The swamp dwellers have Sessions backed into a corner. Sessions has to make a decision, to grow a set of balls and put a stop to this bullshit or just sit back as the deep state continues these charades.
Sessions knows that being bold will end his career in government, but he's 70 years old. I mean c'mon, do these guys think they will have immortality if they remain in office?

The FBI is throwing McCabe under the bus in dire hopes this will satisfy the republicans in Congress and stop them from exposing anything else about their corrupt agency.

For the record, terminal leave is not corruption, it is policy. When you have enough sick and vacation days to reach your retirement date, you end working and use the remaining leave to retire early. Literally everyone who retires takes terminal leave if they have any vacation or sick time left.
I agree about corruption, but this isn't an example of it.

I wasn't talking about the terminal leave. I was talking about the culture of corruption that is accepted in today's government on all levels. The leave thing is just a built in perk that shows the level of benefits that is out of control in government. Separate issue. Then there is out of market retirement pensions, and benefits in government.

But according to Congressman Trey Gowdy, a Committee member and former prosecutor who help write the memo, Democrats have done everything possible to keep Americans from seeing the information it contains.
"My Democrat colleagues didn't want us to find this information. They did everything they could to keep us from finding this information," Gowdy said during an interview Tuesday morning with Fox and Friends. "I think it will be embarrassing to Adam Schiff once people realize the extent he went to kept them from learning any of this."

I don't know of any government employee who uses up all their leave to retire early. They all hoard it the last few years and take it as a lump sum payout. And I am almost certain that high up kept getting waivers to carry over annual leave and go above the max you are allowed.
