Title: An alternative to gun control
Post by: Little Joe on September 26, 2016, 07:05:17 AM
Since liberals don't think honest citizens can be trusted to own firearms, presumably because we are all so violent, how about we just medicate the masses instead in order to reduce the violence?
[/sarcasm]

There was another shooting in Houston today.  Details are scarce which tells me that someone doesn't want us to know anything about the culprit.  I wonder why that could be.

Why medicate when you can indoctrinate in the public school system?

I keep harping on this but the Media, Education, and Government is willingly indoctrinating us to be Progressive, anti American, and docile to government.  Look at many Millennial males.  What do you see?

Someone who needs to let their balls loose and stop wearing their girlfriends skinny jeans.

Just gonna say it straight out, though leftists will call me intolerant:  I don't care of someone is gay, but I do expect said gay person to dish out the tolerance they expect to receive.  Thus, "ick" factor for me does not apply to gays.

But I do have an instinctive "ick" reaction to these ever-more-approaching-androgenous males.  For now, we can still tell they are males.  But the boundaries are getting hazier.

It's always a big relief to me to see men being men.  You know, being MEN.  I realize I just profiled!  But we are in big trouble if the difference between men and women is eventually erased.

Even the left is starting realize their own error.

Population is medicated, between opiates and monoamine uptake inhibitors I'd be surprised if the majority weren't medicated most of the time.

Relevance to thread? Not to mention source establishing validity?

Well, it does have some sort of relevancy to the thread.  After all, I did sarcastically suggest that we medicate the population to prevent gun violence since liberals don't trust the ability of American citizens to control themselves.

Medication was the first thing proposed in this thread.  As far as sources, with 30,000 deaths/year from opiates the number being treated/using must be quite a bit higher (I'm seeing estimates of one on ten), since you have to build up quite the tolerance before things get that bad.  Besides, there are sufficient users to warrant the advertisement of anti constipation medications during the Super Bowl (constipation is a side-effect of opioid use).  According to what I can find with minimal effort one in ten Americans is on an antidepressant, among quadragenarian and quinquagenarian women the number quadruples.

That's a LOT of folks.  We are indeed a medicated land.  Odds are you have a good friend or associate on antidepressants.  And there is probably a relative on opioids.
