Damn!  Don’t tease me. I thought this was federal.

I think Joe Manchin will be the first to flip if this ever gets traction.

I’m in the PNW where a sizeable chunk of our electricity is generated by hydro. Naturally, the Dems are constantly trying to take out our dams to save salmon from perishing on the fish ladders. I kid you not ... my reps are always sending out newsletters detailing the bizarre ways the Dems are itching to employ to justify removing the dams.

Even aside from the decades it would take to recover similar generating power, the sediments released from such idiotic actions would be heinously hard to deal with. Plus resettlements, etc.
Stunning. Same with wind power. Can there be a better place for wind turbines, that are dangerous and ugly on land, than offshore at, say, Cape Cod, Nantucket, etc.?  Then all of the sudden the left are NIMBYs.

I've hunted wild turkeys.  They can be smart, elusive and have good eye sight which means you must become invisible to them.  We have large flocks near where I live, and across the river in Occupied Communist enemy territory in Jersey, they've been having problems with flocks intimidating people in their neighborhoods.  Not letting them out of cars, etc.  But, remember these people are afraid of their own shadow and are screaming for their Nanny State government to come to their rescue.

If you get out of the car and wave, and yell at the turkeys they will disperse and leave you alone.  If you have to launch one into flight with your foot if they actually attack you, do so.  Yes, wild turkeys can fly short distances, unlike their Perdue, genetically modified cousins.
I hunted turkey once in Iowa. Boring as hell, sitting in cammo at the base of a tree just waiting.

When I lived in NC I asked why people don’t turkey hunt here. They said that The Carolinas has every poisonous snake in the US. They don’t like the idea of sitting next to trees for hours on end with copperheads, rattlers, coral, and cottonmouths slithering around. I get it!

I thought the left didn’t care about ratings.
Somebody’s got to pay the bills to keep the lights on. Those people are called Carlson and Hannity.

The DC elite have become Royalty.  They no longer fear The People, so feel entitled to become rich in office, and abuse their power.  They need to learn a lesson, but I don't know how that is done.  Voting them out of office doesn't work as the people that replace them become just as bad if not worse.  The game is rigged.
I firmly believe the last and only hope to change course is an Article V Convention of the States amendment to create term limits for Congress and the courts, and a balanced budget amendment.

Nothing else will work if it has to pass through the hands of the swamp.

Scary is right.  That could have been a tipping point, but it's not over.  The "reasonable restriction" statement is very scary.  They can call anything "reasonable".
This is one decision where I think Scalia screwed the pooch.

I mistyped. I meant to say SCOTUS is supposed to keep an eye on  Congress.

The Pres too,  it I meant Congress.
Actually no there is no oversight of the respective branches in the Constitution, other than Congress can establish courts inferior to the Supreme Court.

Otherwise, oversight is NOT an enumerated power of the executive or legislative branches. That’s why Trump and his executive branch has zero responsibility to respond to congressional subpoenas.

Theroetically, SCOTUS keeps an eye on the President. Congress.

The thing about SCOTUS that I hate is that it has become so partisan.  You can generally tell how they will rule based on partisan politics, not the Constitution.  At least the right isn't as bad about that as the left, but that is a problem too.

edit:  Changed "president" to "Congress", which is what I meant to type.
The fact that four SCOTUS justices thought the RKBA was NOT an individual right tells you everything you need to know about how close we are to tyranny.

We keep hearing from the Democrats how important it is for the House to provide oversight on the activities of the President.  But who provides oversight on the House?  It would be nice if the Executive branch did to the House what the Legislative branch does to the President.
I had this argument today about someone who hated Trump for ignoring congressional subpoenas. He has no concept of separation of powers and jurisdiction.

I had to refer him to Article I, Section 8 to tell me where the legislative branch has any jurisdiction over the executive branch.

So far, no answer other than “Orange Man Bad.”

This is why I rarely donate to any charity.  I will help people or institutions in need directly and not take a tax deduction. I don’t like my money going to executive salaries and retirement plans.
I appreciate that. However, there are charities that do good work, and the executive company is reasonable. Last I checked Ronald McDonald House is very good. I support my local one.

I use this site to pull up their IRS Form 990 to see executive compensation, and other things.

When I lived in Charlotte the CEO of the United Way of the Carolinas pulled down $600,000. Fuck that. I stopped ever contributing the the UW since then.

We need to impeach the House.
It is unfathomable that the Republicans have so little power or say in these proceedings. Look at what the Dems did in the senate to Kavanaugh, while Republicans controlled the Senate. What’s the difference?

Something really stinks here.

In theory I agree with this, but in practice there is a lot of prosecutorial misconduct and too many innocents on death row. It’s a dilemma.
Are there really?  With all the resources available to someone who feels they were wrongly convicted, the endless appeals, etc.?

I know that it has happened, but I don’t think it’s prevalent. However I’ve never studied it.

I have changed my position on the death penalty, as I don’t support the state having that power, but I also don’t support ever letting these filthy killers, rapists, and molesters back out on the street, ever.

That was good, but only for about 30 seconds.  Then it got boring.  But the first few lyrics were perfect for yesterday's hearing.
Well, the first few lyrics were the whole point of this joke, killjoy.

“Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
All democrats

Allegedly news of this shooting broke exactly while democrats were grandstanding and calling for unanimous consent to advance a universal background check bill.  A GOP Senator from MS filibustered it, causing the democrats to lose their minds.
