Title: Quartz thinks millennials aren't all leftists
Post by: Rush on August 02, 2018, 11:28:55 AM
But do they think this is a good thing or a bad thing?

https://qz.com/1104272/sebastian-kurz-the-worlds-first-millennial-leader-is-unsurprisingly-an-anti-immigrant-conservative/

So natürlich I want to see what this outlet, "qz.com" is all about.  I find in "about us" the following:

Quote
Quartz was created for a “post-national” readership: people who are curious about the world far beyond themselves, reject nationalist ideology, and believe that all cultures play a vital role in the global economy. These are also values of our journalism and of our staff. We hire people who bring new perspectives, cultures, experiences, and languages. We reject racism and xenophobia, among our own employees and in the broader political discourse. We believe a more open and connected world is better for everyone.

I agree with every word of that statement.  Unless they mean we shouldn't have borders or countries. For example I am all for BlockChain in a "post-national" world, allowing parties to do business directly without outdated institutions like banks and governments obstructing and confiscating.

But does that mean I want hoards of refugees pouring into my country illegally?  If not does Quartz think I'm "xenophobic"?

The rejection of "Nationalist identity" means the notion that you are an American is rejected and you view yourself as a person in the world living in an area cut off from all the other citizens by nationalistic borders.

Additionally, I think they do not hire people who bring "new ideas" to their company. They only hire people who bring an idea which is preapproved.  They are hiring people to reinforce their echo chamber.  I know that because they list a few ideas which are not tolerated and imply several more. 100% they do not want a conservative in their presence.

As I suspected :( They use terms like "journalism" and "new perspectives" and "rejecting racism" as virtue signaling when in reality they are anything but those things.

They brag about embracing a "broader political discourse" but what that really means is disallowing any conservative political discourse at all.

These words sound oh so virtuous they probably work on naive young people and they're probably a bit bent out of shape that they had to report some millennials aren't falling for it.

When the LEFT says they "want to have a conversation", or "want to have a discussion", they are actually saying they want to lecture you, and demand that you comply with their views, and their wishes.  They only want 100% capitulation.
