Spin Zone / Re: Can anyone tell why I have been banned from POA again?
« on: October 07, 2019, 06:15:44 PM »
There is a setting where you can choose whether or not to receive emails from admin. You must have yours off.  Of course you’ll have to wait til the ban is lifted to change the setting but then in the future next time you’re banned you should get the email.
You say that as if you think there will be a next time.

Of course though, I am sure you are right!

Spin Zone / Banned by POA again
« on: January 12, 2019, 06:29:42 AM »
I suppose it was my post in the thread about the magnetic poles moving faster than usual.

I said something like "Better hurry up and create a magnetic tax to slow down Man Made Global Magnetic Change".

I had a feeling they wouldn't like that, but I just couldn't resist.

BANNED by POA.

Not sure, but I think it had something to do with my reply to someone that said we elected an incompetent President.
I said "Yeah, but at least we were able to get rid of him after 8 years".

My opportunity during the normal day Monday through Friday allows me to be on a network that someone else provides. The policies governing  The use of the resource has been updated and politically-based social media is no longer permitted. I am writing this  using my iPhone which has its own special challenges on PilotSpin.  If it takes me a little longer to respond to any discussions or questions please forgive me. If you specifically need to reach me for discussion please PM me and include a link to the post, in case I missed it.  I'm not gone but my daily word count is expected to drop significantly.
That's a relief.

I thought you were going to say you were tired of arguing with us racists and that you were going to go away, like Captain did.

I'm sure Mr. Cruz knew nothing about it and had no role.  ;)

Gary
I wonder if he first learned about it from CNN? (That excuse seems to work for others).

Spin Zone / Re: Trump Supports Individual Mandate
« on: February 22, 2016, 06:09:33 AM »
Trump has made various comments that don't come across as conservative. While I don't know if Trump is a true conservative or not, I do think that it's okay to have positions that not all conservatives have and still be conservative. Just because one differs from another on a particular issue doesn't make him/her less conservative than the other.

That being said, I'd like to know what people here would say if a state decided to mandate health insurance instead of the federal government?
If my State tried to mandate health coverage, I would vote against it, but if it passed, I would accept it.  If I thought it was too egregious to live with, I could move to another State.  But I still don't accept the fact that the FedGov had the right to do it, and moving to another country is a little to extreme for now.

But I do sort of agree with you that I don't hold all candidates to stick to every espoused conservative "principal".  I have many differences with the GOP, but all in all, I still prefer the GOP to the Dems.

I've read about several initiatives to get STEM and Computer training into classrooms where there is a high black concentration.  This is all private activity.

I also personally donated time to a majority black HS and have a few friends that do the same (at other HSs).
I'm happy to hear that Jaybird!
Keep it up and spread the word.
The best help is self-help.
Someday we will get where we want to be.
I'll try to help do my part by standing against racial prejudice.

Sadly 3 out of 4 black children born of wedlock...no one seems to care about the break down of the family.  No white guy is responsible for that...then again it will never be discussed at a dem debate...
Actually, I do blame some white guys for this.  I blame the liberals that made it easier for women and children with no father present to get "government aid" (free food, housing and other benefits).

But you are right that this is (as Trump would say) a UUUUGE problem.

Spin Zone / Re: Tuition Free College........
« on: February 07, 2016, 02:35:20 PM »
The problem I have with "free college" for every one (outside of the fact that it isn't free), is that it would be an extension of our current public school system.  And I have little respect for the state of public education today.  I see kids graduating from public high school today that wouldn't be able to pass 7th grade a few decades ago.

Education is one of those things that if you don't have to "earn" it, you won't take it seriously.  For way too many, it would just be a way of avoiding work for an extra 4 years.

If we were to have "free college", I would want to see it be competitive.  If you don't make the grade, you get booted out.  Also, if we were to go that route, I would like to see it include trade school too.  Not everyone wants, needs, deserves or can handle college.  In fact, I think that should apply to public high school too.

Spin Zone / Rules of engagement; re: ISIS
« on: January 22, 2016, 11:43:29 AM »
It only makes sense that if you are going to wage war, your warriors should be allowed to kill the enemy, so in that regard, the Obama administration did move a little bit in the right direction.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/01/21/us-loosens-rules-engagement-for-isis-in-afghanistan.html

Quote
“Now,” a U.S. official told Fox News, “we can kill ISIS in Afghanistan just for wearing the T-shirt or waving their flag."

How's that for a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.

I still agree with Dave that we shouldn't be over there, but if we are going to fight a war, we should fight to win.

I didn't come here to bitch. I came here to see what it was about. For a group of people that decry censorship, I love how quick the people around here shout down people who are just trying to point out a difficult truth.

I plan to stick around to see how things progress since I always enjoyed lurking in the SZ. I just hope that ya'll can make a place for yourself over here instead of making it only about how POA wronged you.
I must have missed something.  Where did anyone here try to shut any down?

We might tell people what we think of them in no flattering terms, but you and anyone can say anything you like here.  Even if you are in the minority.  As a matter of  fact, we love to have dissenters here so we can really tell them what we think.

So I invite you to stick around and defend your position, to the best of your ability.  It won't hurt any of us.

Was never a big Hef fan.  Always thought he was an egotistical jerk, and a lecherous perv.
Yeah. I was jealous of him too.

Spin Zone / Re: Who Is The Smallest Government Spender Since Eisenhower?
« on: January 03, 2016, 06:19:16 PM »
probably a few people need to understand what the Executive branch is responsible for and what the Legislative branch is responsible for.

Sadly, people seem to think now that the president runs the whole show and controls everything.
That includes the sitting President.
