Pilot Zone / Re: Why turboprops for smaller airliners?

He was Navy first, and a right seater (Bombardier/Navigator) in the A-6, then switched to the Air Force, and was essentially the same function in the F-111.  Right seat, Weapons and Radar Officer.

Ron checked me out in my Tiger, and he does know his stuff, and more about Grummans than I'll ever know.  Still he can be a bit grating at times, but I always got along with him.  Some others did not.  He was very thorough as you can probably imagine.  lol!
I know his online reputation and posting habits, but I met him for lunch at Williamsburg Airport (great restaurant BTW) and really enjoyed talking to him.

Ha!  I like Rush, always have.  But there's a history there involving an erstwhile ex-boyfriend so I didn't want to comment in this thread and open old wounds. And in case anyone is curious, the band is not where my nickname comes from, and neither is Limbaugh. Nor is it drug rush. Nor being in a hurry. It's from "adrenalin rush", from hobbies like flying airplanes or skydiving and whatnot.
Re: source of username–Cool!!  :bravo:

Sorry about the issue with the band and the ex. :(

Why didn’t RUSH post this ;)

Been listening to the new (temporary) Rush tribute channel on Sirius.  I saw Rush once in the 80s, once in the 90s and on the last tour (the R40 tour).  Every time, they were so amazing.  I have always liked Rush, though it’s not like much of the other music I like. All three of them are musicians of the highest caliber. And Neil Peart was the best drummer in the world. I doubt we will ever see anyone of his caliber again. Though the Dave Matthews drummer, Carter Beauford, is pretty damn close.

And I recently saw an interview of Alex and Geddy, and Geddy said Neil’s last name was pronounced “P” “ear” t. Like the word “ear” with a’p’ at the front and a ‘t’ at the end.

And I want to read Neil’s books now, too. Shame it took his death for me to decide I should do that.

I wasn't being judgmental David.  Just asking the question.  No worries!   :)

Being an un-moderated forum, we are "allowed" to discuss other websites here, as well as anything else!
Certainly.

All good.

Why so funny?  I think it is relevant in the aviation community, of which we are a part, to point out HYPOCRISY, and unethical behavior where it exists.  Is it not?
I don’t have a position on that one way or another.  Just knew it would get started here and have been checking in periodically to see if it had. That’s all.

The rofl was to show the harmless, good natured ribbing interned by my post.  You can choose to interpret it how you will–I can’t control that, Anthony.

He just tweeted:

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

Your 2nd Amendment is under very serious attack in the Great Commonwealth of Virginia. That’s what happens when you vote for Democrats, they will take your guns away. Republicans will win Virginia in 2020. Thank you Dems!
I think I’m staying home from work tomorrow.

Was wondering how long it would take for this thread to get started here

I would guess someone saw my post about the his history on the PB and his original startup of his board that failed and told him about it.
He posted the reason why on the pilots place forum. It was people on the left and right he said. It’s in the last thread that I started there.

Who the hell is this jack ass flholbert and why won't he go away.  What a royal pain in the ass.
Frank was one of the early participants (not sure he was exactly a founder, but maybe) of the purple board.

When I first got into aviation big time and decided I had to get my license, I came across Frank’s videos which had audio. That lead me to the Red and I joined AOPA for the training magazine but also so I could get on the forums.

Then I saw how Frank pretty much got run off from every forum he was on. When I got back on Red in its last few weeks, I was surprised that Frank was back posting there. Ron Levy, too.  He has had a similar forum history.

We welcome aviation content here, and have a sub forum for that.  And like the political forum, there is no moderation.
I don' really post in Mos on the PB. I don't really post much aviation content there either.   :o

I guess I mainly visit these forums just to talk to people I get along with about subjects that are not controversial!   :D I get enough controversy at work.  :-\

I changed my vote over there to "shut it down" so as not to distract from the aviation forums, and referred people here for political discussion.  I got a "like" for doing that in a previous post in the same thread.
I "liked" it I think.  Was helping you to get business.  ;D

I'm not surprised.  Can't have non Woke, non PC, non SJW content on a flying website.   Liberal/Progressives (Democrats) need Affirmative Action MODERATION as their arguments can't stand up to reason, logic, and reasonable, common sense thought.

Personally, I think it is just distracting. It is not why I personally visit an aviation forum. But you may be correct. Dunno
