I'm reminded of a leadership lesson about responsibility and authority.  In brief, you cannot be responsible for something you do not have authority over.

"White people" as a group do not have the ability to end racism.  What it was like 50 years ago has been smashed and there's zero doubt from almost everyone that racism is unacceptable.  The lingering holdouts insisting that they still see racism around every corner are some hyper sensitive blacks who look at everything as a slight. 

Are there still some things to do?  Yes, but very little of it falls to white people.  It's a legitimate claim that the crimes black people are committing are more harshly punished...but then why do they commit them?

For me, almost every example of the black community lagging - in universities, in housing, in jobs - resolves back to not a lack of opportunity, but a lack of educational success.  But, at least in NC, schools are taught to the 2nd std deviation down, to an IQ of 70.  That level was chosen to meet the "95% success" goal because statistically, 95% of people are above an IQ of 70.   Yet the black community continues to have a much lower graduation rate than other communities.  At that point, you either state (racistly) that blacks really are dumber or you look at what else goes on in schools.  There are behavior problems that cause students to be suspended, blacks more often.  And I believe there is a cultural issue in play where academic success is mocked by peers.  Bad behavior and a lack of effort causes them to sacrifice their future.

You’re wrong about white people not having the ability to end racism. White people are the ONLY ones who can end racism. It’s got to be true. I heard it from Don Lemon on CNN.

Rush just broadcast a talk with the breakfast club which is apparently a show hosted by a few black supremacists, I guess, I can’t come up with another description other than they want to completely dismantle and overthrow the “white supremacist system” or as it’s more commonly known, the USA.  And if they dismantle the current system what do they suggest replace it? They said “old white men” are the problem so I suppose that means the only legitimate replacement would be young black women.

Rush warned that they would anger us, but I wasn’t angered, they were not rude, it was actually more pleasant exchange than I expected. My take on them was that they’re very soaked in mainstream media propaganda. After being educated that capitalism is evil. Put a racist spin on it and there you have it.

I heard that. Rush was very respectful to them, but they were marginally respectful. 

What for me was one guys insistence that Rush acknowledge that he has “white privilege.”  It was blind simplemindedness, and demonstrated the lack of depth of their conversation.

At some point Rush said something like “if you’re going to attribute every societal I’ll to White privilege, then there’s nothing else to talk about.”  Bingo.

bah - the only-whites-can-be-racist has been a theme for a long time.  We had moroons on POA making those claims before the spinzone was shutdown..

I vaguely remember that.

The difference now is the massive number of whites who buy into this self-flagellation.
