So in Safari on iPad you have “favorites”, and then at the top you have “frequently visited”. You can’t manually tweak the frequently visited other than deleting your history which wipes it.
So, why then, does the page for Eddie Steeples in Wikipedia show up in “frequently visited” when I went there exactly ONCE, and pilotspin.com, which I visit several times a day, NEVER shows up under “frequently visited”?

Is pilotspin in your favorites? Perhaps favorites aren't included in the frequently visited.
but I really don't know... I don't use the favorites/frequently visited "feature" on any browser...

I’ve noticed that too. I visit Gab and Patriots.win and Coffee and Covid and others multiple times daily and they never show up as frequently visited. I don’t use favorites at all, but access the sites from the icon on my Home Screen. If I were a conspiracy theorist I’d say it’s because Apple is using algorithms to ignore sites they don’t like.

BTW, what's the link for coffee and covid?

Try putting your finger on that “frequently visited” site and dragging left That should delete it with requiring you to clear the entire history

I couldn’t drag it but I could press on it and a menu popped up wjere I could delete it. Okay so I can delete one by one. Still can’t add something to it.
OMG it added it back!!! It was gone for a minute now when I opened a new tab it was back! And I did not visit that page, I went there only once weeks ago.

The reason I asked is that firefox (I know you aren't using firefox) recently added a "feature" that is on by default. This "feature" shows address bar suggestions from "sponsors"
I'm wondering if there is a similar "feature" on your ipad...

Good question. Also I will check FireFox on my PCs to see if they turned that on with an update. FireFox used to be a good browser but has sold out like so many other tech startups.
