I am very familiar with the current MGTOW and red pill culture which is portraying women more and more as all psycho nuts.  I'm sure many of them are, and the young ones being indoctrinated in Marxism, toxic feminism and woke mind virus even worse.  Our horrifically unhealthy food supply is making women and men fat, which kills the sex drive (except for a minority of fatty fetishers).  It's true there is a problem with marriage right now, but it might not be as pervasive as these people imply.  Pearl's statistics are questionable. She makes a lot of assumptions, such as "Assume half the people who do stay married are unhappily so," and so on.

But when I say putting it on the men, it is in the context of men's sex drive being about ten times higher than women's, and that's even before menopause when women's crashes to near zero.  This is assuming (yes I am aware it's me making the assumption now) that sex drive is linearly related to testosterone level.  Testosterone is associated with libido in both men and women, but men have about ten times the amount women do.

Therefore it's much easier for women to do without sex than for men.  So if for whatever reason in marriage the sex dries up, a lot of men will seek prostitutes whereas as far as I know women going to gigolos is not a common thing.Women may do that or have an affair but it's more likely to be about the companionship and emotional connection than just sex. Whereas men need sex simply for sex's sake.

So if men go to prostitutes, it's on the men.  But to the extent women are driving men away, you're right, it's on the women, which I kind of made that point myself in my first post about how women are delaying marriage, and causing men to avoid them with all their anti-patriarchy hostility.
Considering those needs, a good strategy would be for men to cultivate a loving relationship with a stable and loving woman who wants a stable and loving and faithful relationship, and a family, if he wants that, and then to develop and deepen the physical, mental and emotional relationship through years of marriage. This is what most women want, and they’re wired for it, even if they hide behind singleness, their cats, too much wine, pro-abortion demonstrations, and tattoos and grunge.

Real relationships take work, and you can get hurt, so many people flee them and try to satisfy their sexual urges in shallow hookups.

Our bodies change, especially women’s from bearing children. A man’s body is going to change as well, and a deep mutual love is a wonderful balm for the vicissitudes of life. Humans typically flourish best with a compatible life partner. Such a partner will desire the sexual satisfaction of the loved husband or wife. Again, we’ve fallen so far from this ideal that it seems quaint and unrealistic. But it is achievable with discipline and awareness.

Take umbrage all you want.  When you, Lucifer and Anthony stop bringing up my wife, I will stop abusing you for it.
I don't always agree with her, but she is off limits here.
You didn’t provide proof of your detestation claim, I don’t recall anyone here mentioning her for months, if not longer, and you brought her up, even though you state she is off limits. If that’s the way you feel, then perhaps you shouldn’t mention her. I’m pleased we share a love of old books. Egad. I swore I wouldn’t get embroiled with irrational people anymore. Bad Becky.

You sound just like my wife, who from your many comments you seem to detest.

Now she is trying to get the musty mildew smell out of her library.

I take umbrage at your statement about me and challenge you to produce even one iota of evidence that I detest, or even seem to detest, your wife. You, sir, accuse me falsely. I presume it is because you have managed a dozen days or so here on PilotSpin without having your feelings hurt, and so you must cast about for something about which to be offended. I urge you to break that addiction.

Resonating. I adore old books, and try to find old copies of my favorite books so I can ditch the new ones. No better word choice than “savoring” for the feeling of reading a print book. I’ve been known to buy an old book just because of the way it feels in my hand, and falls open inviting me to read it.

DeSantis should have supported President Trump, then waited his turn. He’s out of the natural order. In the fullness of time he would have been good. Probably not great, but good.

Two losers thinking they’re still relevant. Those pompous idiots and others like them are why our country is sliding into hell. They don’t lead, they serve themselves not Americans, they don’t fight back against the rot. Money grubbing  egotistical snakes.

This difference in appearance on left/right has fascinated me for a long time. Strangely, leftist women actually often have nice features, even classic beauty. But they tend to be angry, horribly judgmental, and all up in OTHER PEOPLE’S business, heartlessly scrutinizing what YOU are doing while smug self-righteousness dominates and alters their visages in a unattractive way.

Conservative women seem to have a better grasp of the actual principles of human flourishing. We realize threats to it and see a bigger picture. We can look outside ourselves. I feel as if liberal women often are trying to work out their own neuroses and fill their own voids by picking a group to condemn (men, Republicans and Christians mostly), but in so doing they just desiccate their own souls by harboring hate, refusing discussion, becoming monomaniacal and failing to see their own destructive behaviors.

Liberal men seem drawn to these women. I’ve noticed that these men seem to like being told what they should do and how they should vote. Maybe they were originally drawn to the woman’s body but by the time they recognized her stifled inner life it was too late.

Spin Zone / The disobedient survive
« on: September 12, 2023, 06:09:20 AM »
“This man's name is Rick Rescorla. 22 years ago today, Rick disobeyed orders, and saved 2700 lives. Rick was the head of security for Morgan Stanley in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. He warned that the Towers' basements were vulnerable to attack. His warnings fell on deaf ears. Then the 1993 attack happened, and people started listening to him.

After that attack, Rick implemented regular evacuation drills, using his megaphone to direct the thousands of employees out of their offices, down the stairwells, and out of the building to safety. Born in Cornwall, Rick would sing Welsh and Cornish songs from his megaphone, as he directed the employees out of the building. He would routinely tell all of the employees: in an emergency, no matter what chaos is happening around you, no matter what anyone tells you, leave your offices, go down the stairwells, and leave the building.

Rick told his wife Susan that he suspected another attack on the World Trade Center would happen, this time by air. And 22 years ago today, on September 11, 2001, that attack happened. When the first plane hit the North Tower, the Port Authority announced over the South Tower's speaker system "Please do not leave the building. This area is secure."

Rick ignored them. "The dumb sons of b------s told me not to evacuate," he said to his best friend Dan. "They said it's just Building One. I told them I'm getting my people the f--k out of here." And so Rick picked up his megaphone as he had done so many times before, told his employees not to listen to the orders, and directed them out of the building. His Cornish songs helped keep their nerves calm as they evacuated, even after the second plane hit their Tower. Once he had successfully evacuated his employees, Rick went back to look for survivors. But first, he called his wife Susan. "Stop crying. I have to get these people out safely. If something should happen to me, I want you to know I've never been happier. You made my life."

Rick rushed back to the South Tower. That was the last time anyone saw him alive. All but 6 of the more than 2700 Morgan Stanley employees survived. Had they obeyed the Port Authority, they would all be dead. Thankfully, they listened to Rick instead. Rest in Peace, Rick. Thank you for your service.”

It all has to come apart first before it gets better, unless the Neo Fascists are beaten down convincingly.
Great power has fallen into the hands of a few. And they are, as Taylor Caldwell says in her book Captains and Kings, “deadly quiet men.”

There is personal evil, greed and lasciviousness, and then there is the larger Machiavellian evil, the desire to control nations and all levers of power.

As Rush says, this continuing cycle is is our fate without constant vigilance and, apparently, drastic violent action.

My husband is just finishing The Fourth Turning.” He thinks we are in the unraveling stage. If one lives long enough, all four stages will be experienced and the devolution will come around. Our mothers (97 and 96) experienced WWII and the depression. And now this. I think most of us Boomers are still in a quasi-paralyzed shock that our “secure” American world has disintegrated to such a vulnerable state. A crumbling, shuffling puppet “President,” elections controlled by evil, and a war-grifting Congress. This is going nowhere good.

Great Styx episode. To me there’s no mystery at all why DeSantis can be “a cutthroat Governor” but a failing presidential candidate. In Florida, he followed his instincts. In the national race, he’s listening to handlers, who are Trump and America haters, and grifters, basically. Therefore he does not resonate with Americans who are “tired of the shit” government is throwing at us.
