Title: GOP Primaries Start Soon
Post by: Number7 on October 27, 2015, 09:41:39 AM
With Carson - Trump the front end of the train, and Carly - Jeb somewhat in it, how would you feel if Donald Trump ended up President?

How would you feel about Ben Carson as President?

What about VP?

I like a Carson - Bush ticket, to give Ben someone to do the dirty work, while he works on big picture issues, instead of becoming bogged down with destroying the constitution, and ruining our economy, like Barack Obama.

I think a Trump/Carson ticket would do well. I'd rather see a Cruz/Carson win however.

My Question is do you think any of these guys will team up? If so what is your prediction?

I am really confused as who to support for the GOP Primary.  I like a lot of what Trump says, and I like his energy, but I don't trust him to be truly conservative.  I like Carson, but don't know if his demeanor lends itself to being a winning politician,  but that may be a good thing actually.  I like Cruz, and Paul, but don't theink they are likeable enough to a wider audience.  I have NO idea for whom I will vote.  I do know this.  It WILL NOT be Hillary.

I think having Bush anywhere near the ticket will guarantee a Hillary presidency.  He may have been a good governor, but he's not a great campaigner, not a good debater, and not a strong conservative, IMO.

I don't trust Trump, but he may be inevitable.  I fear his negatives are too high to win the general election.  I'm not anti-Trump, but I'm not pro-Trump either.

I do like Carson.  I'd like to know more about his changing 2nd Amendment positions, but overall I'm high on Carson.  I do fear that he would get eaten alive by professional bitch and politician Hillary in a presidential debate.

I would love a Carson-Cruz, Carson-Fiorina, Or Carson-Rubio ticket.  I think there is no way in hell Trump would agree to be VP.

I want to like Carson - seems like a genuinely nice person.

But...

1) His comments on evolution seemed to be pandering. Unless he is a creationist, which would also concern me. But that's a topic deserving of its own thread.

2) In one debate he would not come down as opposed to torture, also possibly pandering.

3) His health care fix seemed poorly conceived and shifting on last Sunday's talk shows.

I do like Fiorina, but she seems to have trouble gaining/maintaining momentum.

But I'd vote for any of them over any Democrat. Except Trump - if he's the nominee, I'd probably sit this one out

I may be in the minority but I thought Rubio had a great debate.
Carly's reference to the NASDAQ falling 80% while she was at HP put a burr under my saddle since $HPQ is traded on the NYSE.  There is no relationship between the two elements.

Rubio was great, as was Cruz.

I think Bush is toast. He's a horrible debater.

As for Carly, was HP traded on the NYSE back then?

How much did the NYSE go down in the same time period?

Don't know off the top of my head, will have to do the analysis.  Good question though.

My recollection of Carly's comment may be wrong.  Let me try and find the quote later today

Agree about Bush, the guy can't debate his way into or out of anything.

My take on the debate.  The biggest loser was CNBC.  The number of times they were jeered for asking dumb shit questions was great.  They were so transparent in their questioning they may have indeed damaged the MSM by turning peoples heads last night to what media bias does look like and leaving no doubt that it exists.

Ted Cruz really nailed the moderators and made them look really bad.  He is good at speaking about things with no notes.

Marco Rubio may have finished off Jeb for good.  Can't imagine why Jeb decided to go after Marco like that?  Marco also made the moderators look bad when they were asking about his personal finances.  I probably would have just said, "NOYFB".

I liked the Huckabee anaolgy between the blimp and government in general.  It was a good zinger.

Christy showed well and had some good lines.  Probably too late for him to move up too much unless Jeb sees the writing on the wall.

Carly had another good night.  We'll see of she gets another bump.  I would hate to think that she is not moving up because she is a woman.

I believe Kasich is done. Went on the attack against Trump right out of the box and it failed.

Rand Paul will probably hang around because he runs a low dollar operation, but probably not going anywhere.

Trump didn't really hurt himself, but didn't get much time.

Dr. Ben had a good showing, we'll see if it gives him more momentum.

Let's see if Cruz makes a move based on this debate.

I do believe we saw the identical debate. I agree with every sentence.

A Trump/Carson ticket just might stand a chance against Clinton.

I agree.  They balance each other in many ways, mostly personality.

As much as Trump is an asshat....Im not too sure his presidency would seriously be that bad.  I mean he does have some serious business acumen...although he also has bankrupted his companies before he always seems so rebuild. Is that not what America is going to need?

I think Trump would be really good at surrounding himself with good people.  Not academics, and Dem campaign hacks.  People in business, and industry experienced and proven to GET THINGS DONE, not just talk about stuff like the Obama crowd.
