True, but those Rs that didn't vote for him voted for another R. In today's environment, except in rare cases, like Romney and Cheney, Rs vote R and Ds vote D. Especially for something like Speaker of the House. It's hard to imagine that any R would vote for anyone that would cause Pelosi or one of her proxies to win.
But then again, Rs do tend to do stupid stuff.

Here's a thought. A lot has been made about there being no requirement for the Speaker to be a current elected official. Even Trump's name had been floated. Let's say they actually got Cheney elected speaker, that would make her, an unelected private citizen, third in line for the Presidency.
