What needs to happen is a significant number of campaign workers and top aides to resign, refusing to be complicit. Kaine should withdraw. These people should realize that even if elected, she will go down, and they with her.

Kaine is probably viewing this as an opportunity. If she's elected, faces charges and either resigns or is convicted, Kaine would be the next president. I have no doubt that that thought has crossed his mind at least once.

Or Hillary will have to resign due to health reasons. Kaine is as whacky, or whackier than Hillary.

Either way, I'm sure he's considered the potential opportunity to replace Hillary. The Democrats are only damaging themselves in the mid-terms in 2018 and the next presidential election in 2020 if Hillary is elected.
